Does this come with a plug as in picture or is it upside down. Need to fit into outdoor plug?

I bought a set last year and the plug goes up the way so the cable came out the top of the plug so no good for a normal wall mounted outdoor weatherproof socket. Haven't found any lights that fit in an outdoor socket except for old sets where the transformer was separate from the plug. On most modern light sets, the plug houses the transformer making them too big to close the lid on the socket. Last year I bought a weatherproof socket box, the plastic box which has an extension cable inside. Thought this was ideal as I could run the plug to the outdoor socket. All went well until I discovered that on one set of lights, the plug is shaped out the way (rather than up or down) so it wouldn't close. Half the people reading this will wonder what I'm waffling about, the other half will feel my pain and annoyance!
