These are invaluable for getting medication and Critical Care into my elderly degus; the .5 size is perfect for tiny rodent snouts. But, like many of the other reviewers, I would get frustrated when the syringes would get stuck after just one or two uses. Then my vet gave me this tip: According to my vet, syringes are actually coated with a thin layer of medical-grade lubricant. Since many of us are using these for feeding and medication, we wash them out after each use (which is necessary to keep things healthy), but that also eventually washes away the lubricant. And when there's not enough lubricant, the plunger eventually gets stuck, causing the little rubber stopper comes off when trying to work the non-lubricated plunger. My vet's tip is to re-lube the plunger with a bit of olive oil, coconut oil, or any other edible/food grade oil. It works like a charm! You do need just the tiniest dab of olive oil on the tip of the syringe, and then it will lubricate the inside of the syringe on the way down. Be careful though--the olive oil will make the plunger pretty slippery, so the contents will come out a bit faster than you might be expecting at first. You will eventually have to start using a fresh syringe since the stopper will stick after awhile no matter what, but the olive oil trick will extend the life of the syringe to a couple of weeks instead of a couple of times. Note: my vet specializes in rodents/small animal exotics, so double-check with your own vet about the species-specific safety of olive oil if you're using these for something else (like a reptile or a bird).

Have used these for years, for microdosing a medication for my chihuahua. Caps are useful when I need to predraw her meds for travel , etc.

I like that these were available faster than the orange syringes. You just have to remember to backlight it when measuring medications.

These have held up well! Got them for cat pain meds and the small size is perfect for her small mouth and the tiny amount of meds she gets. Easy to use. Love these!

The BEST!!! I have a Cockatoo that takes 5 different meds, twice a day.. it’s been a frustrating nightmare dealing with syringes.. then I bought these and LIFE CHANGER.. I can see these working over and over .. all the others were 1 and done no matter how well I cleaned, or relubed them. These are designed different.. I’m so happy to have found them, and my sweet Lucy is less stressed during med time because I’m less stressed... I wholeheartedly recommend these 1 Billion percent with a Billion Stars!!!! UPDATE: sorry to say I have to downgrade my review because the writing on the syringes wears off extremely fast (faster than the rubber on the plunger), so I have no idea how much medicine to give my dog! I had to take a sharpie and mark them so I could actually use them. So downgrading the five stars to one.******************************These last a long time before they dry out!!!

These syringes are exactly what I needed for tube feeding.

A bit pricey but I needed small syringes to medicate a cat and these fit the bill and these were the most reasonable (price wise) that I could find.
