These are the best split ring pliers I have used. They worked great on the heavy-duty split rings. I do a lot of trolling for large pelagics and also love jig fishing for large fish. It was hard for me to be comfortable with my trolling gear and jigs unless I went to the local tackle shop to have them install the heavy split rings. I have no issues with heavy duty split rings any longer. I had been looking for a pair for the past 6 years. I have tried a bunch, but these are fantastic.

These will open the ring up more than enough to get it onto the Magbay Magtrak 10". Very pleased since others were trying to talk me into a more expensive pair. These are very high quality. I am sure they will do well on even larger rings.

I use these pliers for changing the hooks on my fishing Lures. I had bought a another pair at a fishing show and they work fine except not good for large stiff heavy duty split rings. The Shimano pliers not only work on the large ones, but also on the smaller ones as well. Glad I got these.

We all tuna fish and use large split rings quite often. These work better than any of the others we have and have tried. We all now use these only.

Mind the size of the split ring as this for big rings and I believe there are models for smaller ones
