Safety 1st Child Proof Stove Knob Covers, Stove Knob Safety Covers (Set of 5)

These were the perfect solution so I don’t accidentally burn down our apartment like I almost did on the day we moved in. Boxes everywhere, including on the stove, which has its knobs on the front, right above the oven door handle (WHYYY?!) — I must have bumped into one at some point, so I’m really glad I decided to go back out into the kitchen for a glass of water before bed. Everyone else was asleep by this point, and I smelled smoke. Woke the family up to try to find the source, and I picked up the box on the stove to find it smoldering on the bottom, with small flames coming out of the bottom of the boxes by the time I got it into the sink under water (and then hastily outside since that created smoke everywhere). I was SO AFRAID to go anywhere near our stove or place anything at all on top of it, ever. Until I decided to find out if these were a thing! And they were! (Amazon has everything! 🙂) Now I can bump into those knobs all I want to, without any worry that I’m going to accidentally turn a burner on without my knowledge. And it’s super easy for an adult to open them to turn the knobs on or off when cooking, yet would be nearly impossible for a young toddler to do the same. Thanks for a great safety product that isn’t just for kids — but adults too! I feel safe in my own home now. c

18 month old grandson loves to twist knobs on the gas range. These keep him from opening the gas flow when he sneaks out of sight. They are noisy enough so we know immediately he's in there playing around and work well enough to prevent a disaster. They don't replace immediate supervision once you hear them rattle but suffice to call attention. He sometimes pulls the cover and the knob off the stove but has not been able to turn on the gas in the process. Easy to put back on and he has pretty much learned not to mess with them after a few weeks. If your little one can reach the knobs, these are a necessity.

We purchased this item in June 2024. Easy to install, easy to open & close, and the tinted shade complements our stove nicely. However, it is now 9 months later, and 2 covers have broken at the hinge as reported by other reviews. If the manufacturer strengthens this one part of the knob covers, I'd reward them with 5 stars. While it isn't an expensive item, the covers shouldn't have to be replaced so soon, especially when the problem could be solved easily. Also, be aware that the item description isn't entirely accurate. I have no idea where the dimensions 7.79"L x 7.49"W came from. Each cover is a little less than 3" in diameter. Furthermore, the exterior finish is stainless steel?? It's a black tint on the plastic cover. The only thing that might be stainless steel would have to be the tiny rod that is part of the hinge. Safety 1st, yes. Improving the longevity of the product, a close 2nd!

We originally bought these for our dog but it came in handy when we had another baby.. strong enough that they can’t use but easy enough to open with one hand.. very study.. we prefer the look of the black ones on the stove because our stove has black, not an eye sore

I decided to purchase these after one close call and reading a review that mentioned "murderous cats." If you have murderous cats this is a must! I was afraid they wouldn't work on my narrow stove top but the pieces still "spin" and don't touch each other. I saw a complaint that with heat they might not last too long, but honestly, they arent expensive so if you had to replace in a couple of years, it wouldn't be the end of the world. The one drawback mentioned by a few is that they could be hard for some people to open. I have small not particularly strong hands and was able to do this one hand after a few tries. However, I have a friend, who recently had hand surgury who had trouble. If the issue is a little weakness, an adult could probably open these with two thumbs pressing down. I would describe it as being slightly easier than a "childproof" medicine bottle. If you bought these for an elderly relative, it might be worth your time to practice with them until they could find a way to work them.

I realize this could be a pro or a con depending on your particular situation, but they’re really hard to open. My 60 year old mom seriously just can’t even do it, she had me take them off. I told her to just not close them all the way, but when she gets in the cupboards she brushes against them and closes them, just like she was brushing against the dials and turning them on which is why I bought them in the first place. They also felt cheap and don’t adhere to the stove in any way, so they just hung off the knobs in a pretty unaesthetic way. So now she just keeps the stove knobs off and puts however many she needs back on when she needs to use the stove. Why can’t someone make an affordable version of the of the ridiculously overpriced RangeSafe knob replacements? They must have a patent, but that’s never stopped China before?

I don't have kids but I got these because my kitten was able to turn on the burners and they work great! He hasn't turned on the burners since I got them and I can still cook easily enough. They're super easy to put on, just remove the knob like you would for cleaning and put this underneath. I like that they're dark because they aren't super obvious/ugly.

Fantastic and stopped little one playing with the cooker dials. I’d thought they were too big initially but actually they are perfect for what we need. Super easy to fit and use too.

Muy buene protección, mi escuda tiene pagadores estándar y le quedan bailando pero aun así protegen muy bien de las manos infantiles. Están un poco duras y se vuelven difícil de abrir rápido pero poco con el uso se va adaptando.

Way too big., The knobs would have to be a mile apart to use these. Quality appears good but will be returning them.
