Great value for 100% merino wool
Review based on a purchase price of £31.99 in October 2021. This review is an edited version of my write up for the Hikaro 100% merino wool long sleeve crew neck.Merino wool is the most highly recommended material for base layers. They are said to be the best at retaining heat, whilst being breathable and good at moisture wicking (so that your own sweat isn't making you wet and cold). It's also recommended that 80% merino wool within the construction of the garment is best. The label on this Hikaro Merino Wool base layer claims that it's made of 100% merino wool (see picture), which usually costs £60 - £80, so the fact that this is below £40 is very impressive. You can get the Mountain Warehouse branded merino wool base layers for £29.99 at promotional price, but that is constructed of 80% merino wool and 20% polyester. So is this 100% merino wool legging any good? In terms of comfort and size, I'm very happy. My legs are short, at 26" on the inseam. I chose a small size and they do roll on my ankles, but it doesn't feel uncomfortable and as it's a base layer, no one will be able to see it when I'm out and about. They are suitably stretchy and don't feel restrictive on movement. My skin is also quite sensitive so I washed this legging before wearing it and I haven't noticed any issues with itching. So far it's been warm and comfortable. Merino wool is known to be good at staying fresh, so you can wear them a few times before washing. This is perfect for me as I'm going to try this out in Iceland for a few days and don't intend to buy more than one pair for the visit. If there are any issues in terms of warmth I will update this review in January 2022.PROS:1. Price - for 100% merino wool, if the label is not lying then the price is an absolute bargain!2. Comfortable - Soft and warm3. Size - accurateCONS:1. Can be itchy - I washed mine before wearing so haven't noticed any issues yet.2. Price - compared to other merino wool leggings it's great, but you are paying £30 - £40 just for one pair. Hopefully it will last long.3. No open fly - going for a number 1 is going to be cumbersome as there is no fly opening. If you really need a fly opening look for the Mountain Warehouse leggings. Although they are 80% merino wool as opposed to this 100%.Overall, if you're looking for a 100% merino wool base layer, this is a great choice and great value.

Effective and sleek, keep you warm but still breathe
I’m in the gym frequently, they fit awesome, are very close fitting and flexible which means they do not restrict movements, make me feel comfortable when I workout. Thin and light, and elasticity is strong, great for gym, running, yoga, basketball, etc. However, I can feel this Amazon brand runs a slightly larger than other brands, so I wear an L in these, while I wear an XL in most other brands. Not as tight as I am used to but do not move at all. I like the comfort of not being so tight and the lightness, now that temperatures are not so cold. Wish it was more compression.I think they are more like a base layer for underneath clothes rather than wearing them as exercise tights. Anyway, these have a great waistband that is wide and keeps the tights on your waist. There's no key pocket or drawstring waist but that's no issue with me. No drawcord or ankle zips to get in the way. While running feels like a second skin, fresh and light. You don't need a pair of shorts over them. Be gentle when putting these on as the fabric is quite thin and I also place them inside another item of clothing or pillowcase when putting in the washing machine to avoid premature wear & tear. The entire quality is alright , I was particularly unsure about the crotch area considering of the stitching, however there was no problem, but not ideal, some threads are starting to come out of the stitching…… I do like them but I really wish they a phone or key pocket like most other manufacturers mens tights. What’s more, they wash over and over again without degrading, I recommend hang to dry, do not put in the tumble dryer.

Overpriced ....
There is no doubt that these Merino Wool baselayer gym pants by Hikaro are excellent. They are of good quality and breathable; perfect for those that enjoy those cold winter workouts and runs.I am however, struggling to understand why these are priced at £39.99. I found that the first time I wore these, the material was quite itchy. Indeed this did go away after a few washes but this is not what I would expect from a thermal leggings priced at a premium. In honesty, I have tried similar quality leggings at half the price.Though there is no denying that these are super warm. I wasn't cold wearing these even in those colder winter evenings. They even kept me somewhat dry during rain showers which was a huge bonus. Sure, the quality is there and they fit as expected. I just feel £40 is over the top.4 stars.Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! :)

Is not noo bad but slightly bigger.
In all seriousness I there's no much difference from the normal one I have previously. The only thing is that this are made from quality cotton which is absolutely nice and lovely. But the only thing is they I felt the size is a bit bigger for me.Besides that everything is okay and keep me warm to certain which is nice and I am happy with it.
