Great toy!
The biggest problem was the kids grew out of them before they wore them out!

Big Hit!
My son got a lot of nice Christmas gifts, but of all the gifts these stilts were by far the biggest hit of all! He used them non-stop! They keep him active (we put a ban on computer games and Lego's this Christmas). I sent a pair to my nieces and my brother reported that they were a HUGE hit with them a well! They are very sturdy and solid - top quality, easy to put together and easy to adjust. The bend in the stilt to fit under the arms is essential as it keeps kids from leaning forward and allows them to walk with more ease. My boy was walking on them within minutes - but be careful using them around the house as he took a few spills, but got right back onto them. My boy is 10 years old (a little taller than average), and these would probably work with kids as young as seven year old - if not hang onto them till they fit.

stilt walking
Very pleased with this product. As described, my 10 year old daughter was able to get up on them quickly and walk around on them. It's also easy to adjust the height as you get more experienced. Well made product. One small disappointment. My daughter's a tall 10. These stilts come in 2 models. I ordered the Light Weight version. I wish I'd ordered the regular model. The ad pictures are misleading because the child in the picture of the regular model looks younger than the child in the picture of the Light Weight model. My daughter is having fun. The top height is not that far off the ground. I'm tempted to also buy the regular model.

Age recommendation is off
I'm a sucker for anything that would get my kids moving outdoors. I thought for sure my 8 and 5 year olds would love something like this. They definitely wanted to try it out when they saw it arrive. Putting it together was easy. It required sticking two poles together and adding a handlebar. Everything goes together with a hex screw -- hex screwdrivers included. The poles are lightweight and designed to work exactly as illustrated on the web page. My 5 year old daughter was first. I had the foot rests on the lowest setting and the handlebars on the highest setting. At 44 inches, she was far too short for the bend in the pole to go under her armpits as shown. I raised the footrests as high as they would go hoping that would make her tall enough to get them under her armpits. Still no go. It was not possible for her to use it as intended, so she gave up. My 8 year old son, 55 inches, did fit on the stilts. I placed the footrests back on the lowest setting and his armpits barely made it over the bend. If I placed the footrest one notch up, he would fit, but he felt so insecure, he did not want to continue trying. What a shame. Neither of my kids are using this now. I'm hopeful that if I bring this out with other kids around or when my daughter grows a bit, my son will try it and maybe the kids will all enjoy it. This really looks like fun, so I can't lower the ratings too much except that the age recommendation was off. My daughter is not short for her age and 5+ is just too young. It should be 8+. I intend to come back to update this after I try it out on more children. __________________________ UPDATE: My children are older now. My son is ten and still does not want to use Walkaroo. My daughter is seven and is too short for Walkaroo. She uses Alex Ready Set Stilts , which fits her. I brought both sets of stilts to the park for the cub scouts. It was a pack meeting for the family, so lots of children there. The older kids had no problems with Walkaroo. Younger kids used Alex Ready. Both sets were very popular and were heavily used throughout our entire time there. The kids had no problem learning how to use them. The only problem with Alex Ready is it doesn't curve under the armpits, so the children need to lean forward. No one seemed to mind that, though. Walkaroo allows the children to stand up straighter. For younger kids or ones who need training stilts, I recommend Alex Ready. For older kids, I like Walkaroo.

My 6YO grandson LOVES these stilts! Needed a bit of balance help getting started but picked it up right away. Would definitely recommend!

Lots of fun - until the stilt snapped in half
My daughter was really enjoying these stilts - which she received as a Christmas present. Unfortunately one of the stilts snapped in half when she was using them. Although she only scratched her leg, it is easy to imagine that her injury could have been much worse if she had fallen differently on the stilt. What is also disappointing is that there does not seem to be any way to get in touch with this company. I have scoured geospaceplay.com, but I cannot find any way to contact them. There is no number to call and no e-mail address given. I'll now have to go through the process with Amazon and return both stilts, etc.

She loves them
Our 5yo daughter asked for them, and mastered them quickly (she has a precocious sense of balance, most her age probably couldn't). At 46 inches tall she needed for us to drill holes to make them shorter, but it is easy to do if you have a drill and are at all handy. We are pleased with the quality, and are confident that they will last years beyond her interest in them.

Not great for six year old
I loved stilts when I was a kid, but we could not get my grandson up on these - I think they would be more suitable for a 7 or 8 year-old. I hope he doesn't just toss them aside forever.

Great product as described. My grandkid is still too small to learn it... as it is a bit too high (hence too scary) for her. She will grow up to it oneday
