Fabriano Artistico Watercolor Block, 9" x 12", Traditional White

I like this paper because the size is easy for travel and for making little notes. I like the way the paint moves on the grains. Not too slick.

I am relatively new to watercolor, but have been painting for many years. I purchased this paper upon the recommendation of more experienced watercolor artists. It has not let me down! It has accommodated many layers of glazing, lifting out, light erasing of tiny, pencil marks,. I’ve had moderate issues with buckling, but I know that due to my own inexperienced and still growing water control.

Good watercolor paper block

Fabriano paper is my favorite to use for my art. I create cyanotypes and prefer Fabriano’s hot press paper over any others because it renders the best quality outcome.This is the smallest size I’ve purchased and I found the packaging with the paper secured in with the tack strip on all 4 sides was tedious to pull out, and did not prevent the paper from becoming damaged on the corners. With that said, the paper quality is fantastic. I may continue to cut my larger sized paper to this 5x7” size rather than purchasing this precut 5x7” paper.

This paper is super great- takes paint well and you can add lots of water.It works super good for cyanotype photography too!

Product advertised as a block, even though the “block” was wrapped, I think the wrapping has small tears, since the glue came loose and the paper is no longer attached on all four sides. In more than one place. One corner is dented, I will not be able to use these as full sheets, but I can trim them down.Due to the glue giving way on the sides, I’m a bit concerned about the condition of the sizing.I’ll add more to this after I test the paper in a painting.

Perfect size, great paper, easy to remove a sheet from the block.

I use it for gauache and gold paint, no banding, smooth surface. I recommend

I thought that this would be top of the line paper given the brands reputation but I’m a little dissapointed. In fact I believe some of the new Chinese brands producing cotton artists-grade watercolour paper are superior from my experience.This paper cannot take a lot of water, it also is not very susceptible to masking fluid and leaves marks when removing. Trying to do we-in-wet on this block caused the sheet to warp and the binding to come undone which I haven’t experienced in an artists grade paper before.That being said it’s still 100% cotton, and is still better than pure cellulose (however Bockingford might be a bit better at handling multiple washes compared to this paper). It’s good for light washes and very detailed work. I preferred using gouache on this paper which gave me some nice effects. I will likely stick to other brands for wet-in-wet work
