Highly Recommend!
I was previously given the more "adult" version as a college graduation gift, so when I saw that a more G-rated version of this how-to book had come out, I had to purchase a copy for my younger brother. However, before I gave it to him, take a look for myself. I was happy to see that it contained all of the same great information and witty descriptions minus the curse words and adult humor that wouldn't be appropriate for someone under 16 or so.First off, the book contains a lot of useful information for young adults. There are many sections that cover material that was never taught in school, things like changing a car tire, preparing for a job interview, writing a proper email, managing your finances, applying for and using a credit card, and so on. There are over 40 how-to's that are straight to the point and hilarious to read. If you're looking for a 300 page book that contains endless "fluff," this is definitely not it. The author gets to the point and describes each section in a way that anyone, whether they are 16, 18, in their 20's or even their 40's, can understand and comprehend. To go a step further, I've listed some pros and cons below.ProsExcellent descriptions for each section. The author will take you from A-Z without any hiccups or questions.Great read for young adults as it teaches dozens of tasks that many parents neglect to teach their kids. (If you happen to be looking to give this as a gift to a middle aged man or guy in their 20's, I highly recommend the "adult" version). The cover is quality. It has a glossy finish and great color to make it pop.Incredibly fun to read. The author does a tremendous job of including humorous material in just about every section making you want to keep turning the page.Makes a tremendous gift. While I gave it to my brother as a birthday present, I am contemplating using it as a white elephant or secret santa gift this Xmas.ConsMy only complaint is that the pictures leave a little to be desired. I can easily understand what is occurring within each one, however they could be a tad more clear. I contacted the author about this (his email is provided under the author bio) and he stated that he is currently in the process of updating all of the interior images to make them more reader-friendly.There are a few how-to's that I think would go well in this book, especially with the humorous writing style. For example, how to use a fire extinguisher, how to purchase a home, or maybe even how to find your VIN.

Not very helpful overall.
I sent it back- at cost of shipping which was 1/3 of what I paid- it was that unhelpful of a book. And this is the first book I have returned. Ever. From the reviews it seemed it would have a lot to offer- from changing a tire, replacing smoke alarms and their batteries, and how to do some minor electrical and plumbing- it only had thing you could easily search on YouTube. If my husband had not taught our so. These hung already, it could have been useful. Just wish I’d read the return details before purchasing.
