Perfect if you only need one post anchored in soft ground
This anchor sleeve worked awesome for what I needed it to do. Our pool fence has to go straight across, since we have all sorts of planters that made surrounding the pool impossible. On one end, the fence ends were the walkway curves. So, the last post of the fence had to go into dirt/soil. The spike is very soft, so it hammered easily into the ground. Since the last post is also latched to a wood fence, there is no play when inserted into the spiked sleeve. I am very happy with the results. However, I would not trust this if I had to anchor more than one post in soft ground. There's absolutely no way it would provide the support and tension to keep a safe fence perimeter. Like all of these pool fence sleeves, it's way over priced for a cheap plastic sleeve. It's not like you have any other choice though. Buy this with confidence if you only need to anchor 1 post (maybe 2 if you have a straight line and hard ground), but be skeptical if you are hoping to use it for more than 2 posts.

Pointed end easy to install
We recently used these to assemble a pool fence, and found them very easy to use, as well as good quality. The spiked end make them easy to install (as opposed to using PVC pip with the open, flat end). I gave 4 stars because I feel that added length would give them a little more stability. I found myself wishing they were 6 inches longer. I do feel the current length will hold the fence securely, though.

Not good quality
I bought a few of these to allow my fence to go straight across the back of my pool. 2 of them snapped in half with just mild winds. When I contacted customer support, they told me these are required to be set in concrete. I bought them so I could stick them directly in the ground, but apparently that voids any type of warranty they have. They want you to dig a hole and fill it with quickcrete, then set these in it. Defeats the whole purpose I was buying them for. Ordered longer ones from a different company. They are made of metal and work fantastic.

Missing pieces
Quick and easy way to attach the pool fence into the dirt. I recommend using an actual metal hammer over a rubber mallet. Sure you muck up the material, but at least it goes in.

Works as it's suppose to
I get everyone complaining about the price. But these things worked great for me. Just FYI, if you are drilling into travertine and plan on inserting these? Use 3/4" masonry drill bit. Mine fit snug and tight.

Not durable
These crumbled in the ground over 12 months. At 10$ each and needing 12, I will not be buying again. I will buy the metal ones which are cheaper too.

Just what we needed, no more, no less.
Just what we needed, no more no less. If you’re truly worried about keeping people out, this is not your fence, but it does the trick to keep our young kids from venturing into the pool unsupervised.

No good for desert environment
I attempted to use these for a straight line safety fence in a Southwestern Desert environment. The fence is straight and along the edge of a concrete patio. Unfortunately with our Rocky soil these stakes would not drive in straight and while pushing them in with the mallet often the tops would bend or break. I could see how these might be useful in a soft soil environment for a single or maybe two stakes in a row. But after finding a way to get all of the staky in , I would not trust them on a long stretch of fence. In the end I dug out and put in footers and installed my fence with the traditional anchors.
