I could tell the first time I was going to use it (which was today...), I was going to love it and I do. It felt great going through my long straight hair and made a very smooth ponytail. I'm hoping to be able to get by without washing every day and I think this will help.It's beautiful, came beautifully packaged (LOVE the travel bag) and I also appreciate the nice note right before it arrived. THAT is the advantage of buying from small businesses. They CARE.I too owned a Mason Pearson that disappeared. The bristles were no better than the Dovahlia, AND the handle was plastic vs. the far more sustainable and attractive bamboo. A HUGE plus, in my book! A small one in a case for smaller handbags would be great ;-)

When I first got this I didn’t use it for a few weeks. It came in really nice and somewhat sophisticated packaging and I was pleasantly surprised about that. When I moved I lost a very expensive (over $80) boar’s bristle brush that I had been using and didn’t want to take the hit to buy another one that was that expensive and the photos and reviews here seemed like this brush would be great for a fraction of the price.Experience: As soon as I pulled it out of the package I could tell it was of mediocre quality. It was lighter in weight and the head of brush was smaller in size than expected. *I purchased the brush for thick hair and if you have thick, long, wavy or curly hair this brush is not for you.*The bristles started falling out of the brush immediately when I touched it, there was possibly even some in the box. In order to actually use the brush I have to hold my hair at the base to pull the brush through my hair. I do have very long wavy hair. This is to somewhat be expected occasionally with my hair type but due to the size, quality and position of bristles—which also is an extreme flaw, the boars bristles are less than half the length of the nylon bristles so only 1/3 of your hair is actually getting the boars bristle effect—that is if these even are boars bristles.If you haven’t had a boar’s bristle brush before be aware of the excessive gunk that builds up within the brush. This is really gross especially for first time users. You will need to thoroughly wash this brush with a mild soap often, depending on how often you use the brush. Once every 1-2 weeks I would say.If you have thick or long wavy or curly hair I would not recommend this brush. I missed the return window hence why I’ve kept. I’m using it with difficulty as it makes my hair care routine a lot longer having to hold my hair, section smaller sections etc until I purchase a larger more adequate brush.

This is my favorite Boar Head Bristle Brush, I have several other brands and they are good but what makes this special is it has the wooden comb AND the storage bag. I keep this set in our "den" so while watching TV I can brush away. I have another brand I use with holes in the brush top so you can dry your hair using a dryer and I sometimes do that, but mostly I let my hair dry and then I use this set to brush away. I cannot believe the difference in my hair since using this brush the proper way. I tend to have oily hair but when I brush and spread the oils around my hair is so shiny and smoothe and does not appear oily at all. I love how easy it will be to take when traveling since it has its own little storage bag. I bought another set for my daughter in law who is part Asian. She was thrilled because her Chinese grandmother always insisted on a wooden comb and here this set comes with one. Again, this is my FAVORITE brush!

I purchased this brush for my wife as a gift and she is absolutely in love with it. She has shared that the brush is well designed and very effective for her hair. The handle is made of bamboo; therefore, the brush is light. The bristles are easily reaching the scalp and give a wonderful massage, while the boar bristles distribute the oils.The comb is such a great addition. It is small enough to fit in your pocket, but big enough to brush your hair. I must admit, I borrow it quite often. The company includes a hemp bag which is large enough for both items and even more. I noticed my wife included some of her face brushes in the bag as well when we left to visit our family over the holidays.This set is a wonderful gift for yourself or a special person in your life. The quality is excellent! I recommend this to all my friends and family.

My three girls LOVE this hairbrush! The brush for medium to thick hair does a great job detangling and it leaves hair nice and smooth. We have several other hairbrushes, but my girls refuse use them. I don't have any trouble getting them to brush their long hair with this brush! We eventually had to get a brush for each girl to have their own and end the fighting over the one brush we had. Our experience with customer service was great as well :)

The brush set arrived beautifully packaged and seller contacted me within a day or so to say thank you for my purchase. I just loved that. I purchased the brush set for my 11 year old daughter and she just loves the brush and comb. She is constantly telling me how great it feels on her scalp, like a massage when she brushes her hair. I have noticed how much healthier her hair looks since she has started using the brush. I will be purchasing another one here soon so my daughter can clean one and have another for backup while the other dries. Great product! Oh, my daughter has thick hair and she had no problem using this brush. The bristles reached her scalp just fine.

This is my very first boar bristle hair brush and I have to say it is simply amazing. It also comes with a comb for detangling or cleaning out your brush. I love the way this brush feels on my scalp....it gives it a good massage without pulling or snagging my hair. I have thick/course hair so sometimes brushing or combing can be a bit of a hassle, but it isn't with this brush. For me, this brush is well worth the price.
