Dritz, Stores 28 Bobbin Box, Clear

It's more expensive than other bobbin boxes but in my opinion it's worth it. The clear lid let's you see what coloured threads are inside and its NOT made from that kind of plastic that breaks easily if you drop it, as some bobbin boxes are. Bobbins are held very securely in it, it's well made, sturdy and the click fastener is very good, tight fitting but easy to open and close. The insert is described as , but it's very dense foam which keeps each bobbin snug in its individual hole. I have just turned my box completelyupside down, full of fully wound bobbins, with the lid open. Result..... not a single bobbin fell out. Great for transporting bobbins to sewing classes, because you won't arrive to find unwound bobbins in the bottom of your tote bag! I've just ordered another (would like to know though why the huge price increase in just three,weeks.... it's gone up about 40% from the same supplier)

Great boxes, thread stays where it's supposed to and doesn't unravel.

What an improvement in my sewing room. The bobbins are in order and stay in order. No more mess, those bobbin boxes are simply marvellous. The bobbins stay in place when searching for a color in particular. You may shake the box, it's no use, the bobbins won't bouge. I totally love them and I will surely buy some more to finish the cleaning in my bobines. Quelle amélioration dans ma salle de couture. Les bobines de fils sont en ordre. Ces boîtes à bobines sont tout simplement merveilleuses. Les bobines restent en place quand on cherche une couleur en particulier. On peut brasser les boîtes tant qu'on veut, les bobines ne bougent pas. Je les adore et je vais en acheter d'autres pour terminer mon rangement.

I was excited to find these offered through Amazon! I had one prior to this order, so I already knew how good it was in comparison to the basic plastic boxes most of us have. After moving to a new state, I could not find them on a store shelf - Amazon to the rescue! I purchased these to replace the irritating bobbin boxes from when I first started sewing. You know the ones I’m talking about - the clear, hard plastic boxes most universal bobbins come in, whose lids must be taped down because they easily fall off if tipped when putting away (or accidentally dropped), and the bobbins are loose, so they all fall out (and roll under the smallest spaces)! Very irritating, but I was very happy when I first found this box, and was extra excited when I realized I could purchase more here. With the foam in these boxes, each bobbins is securely nestled in its own space - not so tightly as to make it difficult to remove for the average person (can’t speak for those with dexterity conditions) but it won’t fall out if tipped, and the lids snap securely closed without a great deal of force. No more chasing bobbins under furniture! Although more expensive than the basic, clear box, I find the quality of the plastic for these to be very good (just the right amount of hardness and thickness - neither brittle nor flimsy), and the much improved functionality (lack of frustration with lids and scattered bobbins) is just right for me to feel good about the investment.
