It works just fine.
I was getting a little interference between the two radios, without doing anything other than plugging the radios in the repeater box. My receive radio would blink red on occasion and cause the backlights to come on both receiver and transmitter. I found two cures that worked for me. 1. Separate the radios farther apart.2. Use a longer antenna on the transmitter and by doing this I could keep the radios nearly touching each other without any interference. There were no instructions that came with this product. Don't forget you will need two more additional radios to fully test or wait for the repeater signal to be heard on the radio you are talking in. Note: No Vox settings are required using this setup. Overall, a good product.

Worthless
Doesn't work. Just keys up both radios constantly when plugged in no matter what I do. Crossbanding, separating the radios, adjusting vox and squelch settings - nothing works. Plugging ONLY the recieve (or reci eve as the box itself says) in causes it not be able to unkey - so if it for any reason gets activated, it doesn't stop transmitting. Doesn't matter which radio I use it with, so my radios are not at fault. Complete waste of my time and money.

Works perfectly.
Others may report a squelch loop? If you stop and think how the repeater controller is actually working, the easy solution is turn OFF the Roger Beep on the RECEIVE radio, keep it ON the Transmit radio. To further add reliability, keep the radios apart as much as possible, and use external Antennas. If you can get the Antennas about 20 feet or so apart, performance is greatly enhanced. As in any repeater, grounding and bonding is critical to performance as well.Enjoy your repeater :)

Make sure you understand what you're buying
This item works perfectly, if you understand what you're buying. This is a 2 way, cross band repeater. If you use this item in radios like a Baofeng, you can't use it as a VHF repeater with a 0.600 mhz offset. Baofeng radios will interfere each other and make a loop beacuse they're Baofeng, low quality radios. This box works as intended. The way to use it is to make a cross band repeater VHF <--> UHF, and it will transmit both ways.Use case scenario: If you live in a place where you don't receive good VHF coverage from long distance. You have one radio listening to the VHF, the other radio in UHF and you can roam around with a radio tuned to the UHF frequency. That way any communication that arrives in the VHF band, you'll be able to answer it in the UHF radio.

Excellent!
This thing works great. DO NOT turn on VOX. Works best if antennas are separated several feet.

If you don't wanna fiddle around putting two cables together and doing all the malarkey, this is it.
As they say in the tech industry, "plug, and play."

Weird setup
In going through the description and setup instructions, it seems a bit confusing, but what's to know? Plug it in, follow the arrows for transmit and receive, and bam...there it is. Not so fast. Turns out these key both radios. For some reason they designed it to key either radio when either is producing audio. Weird, right?

Easy repeater
Easy setup, no Instuctions needed. Plugged the leads into the radios set the chancels. Your golden. I did have to coil then zip ties the cords. No biggie. I haven't had any problems so far.
