Easy, Accurate, Cost Effective Monitor Display Profiling for Photographers.
This review is for the Calibrite Color Checker Display CCDIS colorimeter and software product.Let me summarize first: I very highly recommend this product as a simple, powerful method to calibrate your monitor if you want to have your prints and your monitor, Photoshop and google photo repository ALL color match as part of your photographic workflow. Highly recommended.First, I rate the pre-purchase product support from Calibrite as 5 stars. I had filled out a series of questions at the Calibrite website and a very nice Calibrite representative emailed me answers to all of my questions in a mere two days. This kind of pre-purchase product support I have rarely found from any company.Second, upon purchase, I let the support person know and he sent me a document and a download location for the latest version of the ccStudio software that goes with the colorimeter and package. The document is a word file with highly detailed instructions for making the monitor profile.I received the colorimeter and document in the box yesterday, and, this morning, before the sun came up to ensure low ambient light during the process, I unboxed the colorimeter and read the short document. It is important to tilt your monitor at the angle shown in the manual. If the monitor is tilted properly and the counterweight on the colorimeter USB connection is properly located, then, the colorimeter will seal perfectly against the monitor screen.Once I had placed the colorimeter properly on the screen, BUT, before I had inserted the USB into the computer, I launched the ccStudioSetup_1_1_0.exe and installed the ccStudio software. The software installed was smooth and a nice icon appeared on my desktop upon completion. Then, I launched the software and selected RGB and deselected brightness and white point. Then, I clicked through to the point where the software tells you to insert the USB and a nice set of patches appeared. I clicked next the and software began displaying whole screen patches. Note, I like the whole screen approach so one does not have to worry about exact placement of the colorimeter.Based on information from Calibrite support, the software produces curves that align your monitor, via LUTS placed on your graphics card, with sRGB typical settings, white point and gamma. Then, having developed those LUTs, a monitor profile is developed and the software also automatically saves the profile and maps it into Windows 10 color management properly. The entire process, supervised by the software went easily and flawlessly. I had previously made prints on an sRGB monitor and upon looking at the screen results from the Calibrite outcome and compared with the prints, it was nearly an exact match. My monitor does not quite capture all of the sRGB gamut so that is a factor.Summary: The calibrate product is an inexpensive way to greatly improve your Photoshop experience whether you are a professional or an amateur like me. I also use Canon Digital Photo Professional so mapped the new profile into that software as well (Photoshop does it automatically).I really cannot communicate how pleased I am with this simple to use, effective, color critical tool from Calibrite. Well done!! Last but not least: The product is very cost effective. Just do it.

Great for both displays and projectors!
Works wonderfully on my Mac, Windows and even Linux computers.Pro tip: use a FOSS utility called DisplayCAL (either old OG or PY3 version) instead of bundled software.

Good Hardware, Software Lacking
The actual device works well, calibration of my 4k monitor went smoothly, but the software could do with improvement. It lacks any real guides and instructions as to what to calibrate to for differing applications, such as photo proofing etc. My 15 year old i1 with NEC software was far better, allowing you to switch profiles readily for differing workflows. Also the unit says Mac compatible, however it only has a captive regular USB cable, and no USB-C adapter so is not usable out of the box on modern MacBooks.

Where have you been all my life?
I've known for years that I needed to get into color calibration but was always put off by what I thought were the high technical demands of existing products.Calibrite changes all that. The hardware and software demystify the process, and the color rendering of my monitors are now like "night and day".This may be my first Calibrite purchase, but it won't be my last as I can now achieve precise, accurate color for my needs.

So many issues. Unbelievable!
The manufacturer needs to make the app ready to use. I had to constantly go and look up what the problem I was having from user forums. The website should have clear list of what we need to do before starting. one thing was I couldn't open up their app in windows 11...I had to look up why and reset my microsft store settings...this was just for this app everything else was working before I added this. It worked the first time but the profile was horrible and my screen brightness was set so low and yellow it looked like the nighttime setting. So I redid it and....The Next issue was that my laptop wasn't recognizing that the unit was plugged it and the app kept freezing and after 2 hourse of researching and trying to get it to work...I gave up. I am going back to spyder it just was so much easier. This was frustrating

Very accurate calibrations in Win 10 and 11
I've used similar devices for many years and needed to upgrade for Windows 10. I found this device to be as accurate and simple to use as any in the past. You may ask, "how do you know". But, after many years of working with calibrated equipment and workflows, you simply know. I also tried multiple calibrations to see if there were any inconsistencies, and did not find any. Many reviews of other manufacturers' devices refer to inconsistent calibration, so this should not be a concern here. The software is easy to install and use. Calibration is fast, other than the process samples 128 colors, which means the entire process takes about 5 minutes. Also, the software and calibration seem to work fine in Windows 11 as well.
