I like the handles and the extra buckles on this sling. The buckles are big, which I thought they would be small and poor quality. It should be a little wider in the belly area to hold the goats better. So far I like this sling, we shall see the more I use it, if it is worth the money. Not sure a calf would fit in this. you have to be strong to pick the calf, lamb, or goat kid up off the ground to get the sling to hook onto your hanging scale.

This works great on young goats. We try to make sure we slightly overdose our worming meds to ensure a full kill. This sling works great to lift the young goats up and connect to a set of scales. We will administer the meds while we have them on the scales and the sling keeps them in place. Highly recommend for anyone looking to weigh animals.

Bought these to weight out lambs. It works but is cumbersome to wrangle the sheep into and is for sure not a single person gig. It is made well and does its job, so I have to keep this review positive but it’s simply not easy to use, probably not the straps fault, but I thought buyers should be aware of the user experience. Buy it if you want accurate weights on young stock, but bring a buddy!

Excellent for weighing sheep and goats

I bought this sling with high hopes. It advertised that it will hold over 200 pounds. I raise goats. I weighed my kids first. No problem. The sling was a little big on them but got the job done. Next was the 6month olds. This was a little more tricky. I noticed the seams we’re struggling at 55+ pounds but we kept going. We reached a kid that was pushing 70 pounds and the D rings bent. There’s no way this thing holds over 200 pounds. I was devastated. Too bad I bought it impulsively to be prepared for when the time came or i would be returning this piece of crap. Spend a few extra dollars and get a better one if you have larger animals. Anything under 70, well it’s great!!!
