Worth the money
The price was about $25.00. Every other place was about $50. Works great. Now I can er-live my childhood. The vintage look is part of the design of the packaging. Its new. The dvd inside is new. Looks cool looking. Worth the money.

Misleading Digital
Just like Part 1, they only give you a portion of the episodes digitally. This isnt the first series Funimation has done this to (Record of Lodoss as well....). Can't think of any other company that advertises Digital Copy and doesnt actually give you the full seasons. Very deceptive.

Funimation support is a joke. Save your money.
So in order to use your digital code, you must create a free qccount with funimation. When i redeemed my code, the series still shows locked. I contacted funimation email support and spoke with Jorge C. Who couldnt figure it out. Moved my ticket to a higher level support who never contacts you back. Its been months now and nothing. So if you are buying this product for the digital code, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Funimation seems like its run out of some guys basement. EPIC FAIL...

good series but heavily edited
The original anime had 23 episodes, edited here into 24 episodes using flashback footage to connect it to Macross, which was an unrelated anime made by the same creators. The original version took place on a colony planet called Gloire, but the US version supposedly takes place on Earth, Due to the change, there are many inconsistencies. Dana Serling, daughter of Max and Miria in Macross, was shown as a baby with blue hair like her father. but here has blond hair because it was a different character. When the Southern Cross officers talk to the Masters, they admit at several points that they were colonists and could not evacuate everyone in a few days, Again in the original, the "Masters" were the original inhabitants of Gloire, returning home and wanting the alien invaders to leave. The bits about the Invid were added in to make it easier to incorporate the third series, genesis Climber Mospeada, into the 85 episode "Robotech."I have seen the original version a few times and the hackedup Robotech a lot more. I do enjoy both, but it would be nice to get remastered, dubbed versions of all three original series. I have an old copy of Macross and downloaded copies of the other two series.

Again another batch of low quality DVD's
Yet again Funimation have not made much effort in producing a bad product with this incarnation of Robotech DVD's they have taken the Robotech remastered dvd's and just basically screwed up the picture quality. The picture has been sharpened a little bit but the grainy picture quality pretty much decimates any positives. The original Remastered box set DVD's that they have used as source material are way better then these abominations they have released on the fan base of this show. I have collected every single VHS and DVD set since 1986 of this show and this is truly the worse one I have ever seen. As others pointed out you can make better conversions yourself using handbrake software and the original remastered box sets. In short do not waste your money on this version as they are so far total low quality rubbish so therefore one star is all I can give them I will await the disaster that may be the Invid invasion series yet to come?.
