How long is the connection cable?Thank you in advance

Not very long, not measured but I have mine on a bedside table and plugged in not far away at all. I’ve been considering an extension cable for mine. Love the lamp though have to say.

Could I use this horizontally instead of vertically?

Thanks for asking. If you used one of the no more nails products, you could fasten it to a wall you could use it horizontally but only by fastening the base to something. Hope this helps. I love the three different shades it can be used as.

Does it switch off completely from button or plug?

I switch off on the control button, which means my chosen light is gone. Completely though might mean at the plug.
