This is a brilliant idea, however the execution could be a little better. I found this while looking for an original advent calendar for our children as an alternative to the unhealthy chocolate ones or the calendars filled with cheap and useless toys (and I would include the expensive Lego calendars in the latter category).This calendar provides you with 24 experiments in the countdown to Christmas. Each day has a box with a different experiment that range from Biology and Mechanics to Chemistry. It comes with a fairly extensive, clear manual. Both our children aged 8 and 11 are intrigued by it.However some of the experiments are a little silly and the times included are generally a little flimsy, small pieces of card board, a magnets some plastic parts ect. Also when browsing through manual the surprise for the next few days will be lost.So while its a good alternative to many other calendars I actually found it very expensive - you may be better of buying a junior science experiment kit that will be more comprehensive and spectacular for the same price.

My son loves science at the moment (he’s nearly 7 yrs old & we home educate) so when I saw this I thought it would be great to do an experiment every day. I was excited to give it to him for start of count down. Opened up the first day and it’s a rolled up piece of paper that turns in to a house ( which we couldn’t put together because it had been rolled up & even with strong glue it didn’t stay stuck), then there was a piece of ribbon (which I have loads of), the smallest pipette in the world was next & then a cheap syringe am not happy with these items. The are unimaginable & so cheap. VERY DISAPPOINTING 😭

Bought this for my son this year and its the worst advent calendar ever! The gifts so far have been so cheap, 1st of December he got a couple of small pieces of paper which u hav to glue together,2nd day he got a really thin pippete and today he got a peice of string! Basically you get a instruction book that gives you experiments to with ur items..complete rip off. Seeing my 6 year old face this morning open his calender in excitement to get a peice of string was unbelievable 😳

I had read that you get everything you need in this advent but you don’t. I was expecting the experiments to be a bit more like wow volcano type experiments but opening some boxes to a bit ribbon etc Was a bit of a let down my son got bored easily so wasn’t really worth money for me

My god this is awesome.Everything you need for daily experements even down to safety goggles.Each day there are 2-3 experiments each day.Only on day 6 and were loving it.Very suitable for all ages. Our 4 year old has been getting involved and carrying out the experiments.Definately a top buy advent calendar and you will be hard pressed to top this.
