This unit has enough parts for both hexmods kits. Make sure to buy both for best results. Requires steady hands, good eyes, and patience. Recommended that you use a large white tray or a large tray with parchment paper and a good pair of tweezers during assembly. Parts are small, hard to see, easily dropped or misplaced, and you are totally out of gas if you lose a part.

Very fun and fast toys. Good battery life. It can also drift... Go with the red one if you can. It comes with everything.

Bought two different sets of the Hex racers for the boys and they loved them. Spent lots of time assembling, changing and racing! Even got their Uncle in on the action. Parts eel east to change and tools were handy.

I originally bought this as a Christmas gift. Once received and opened by my fiancé, he realized it was broken. The car would not turn left and would only turn right. No problem right? I’ll just send it back. I messaged the seller my issues and requested that I get either a refund or a replacement. I was told by a general Amazon statement that they would reach out in 2 days… 4 days passed and I still heard nothing. So I then just processed it as a return through Amazon and I got a new (working) one within a week after sending back the defective RC car. I still haven’t heard back from the seller. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 Other then that, I would recommend this RC a thousand times over to anyone who loves them. It is so much fun, and there’s endless possibilities on what you can do with your car.

Grandparents purchased for my son as a gift. He loved the customizable parts and was occupied with the gift for quite a but of time.

If you're trying to relive your X-mods, don't bother. Tolerances and build quility are significantly below X-mods.

This pack looks really good, but a lot of the parts are lower quality plastic and the tires wear out fast. For those of you who may have purchased X mods (the original RC cars) in the past, this seems like it would be a close second. However, don’t be fooled, the quality is much lower, and the products are not nearly as durable.

We had an issue with a faulty remote. Hexbug was so responsive and sent a replacement with a couple days. Amazing.

My son received this as a gift and was so excited to have an RC that he could “customize” and he really enjoy playing with this…until it broke. Unfortunately not all parts are replaceable so keep this in mind. A small metal pole that holds one of the gears onto the chassis came loose and no longer holds the gear, rendering the car useless. I was in touch with customer service but because the car was not purchased recently they are unable to help me and there is no way to replace the chassis without buying a whole new set.
