Great for beginners!
This is a great dictionary for beginners! It gives the definitions of the most frequent Swedish words and even has example sentences to help you understand how to use them. I would definitely recommend it if you are just starting to learn!

Not as helpful as it could be but not outright detrimental
There are some serious issues with this entire series of books. I originally gave a good review of the Italian Mastery edition in this same series but this... This really highlights some of the issues with how all the books in this series were created.1. The English translations are many times poor and occasionally just bad. Take the Swedish word annan which is given an English translation of "otherguess" and "else". Why on earth would anyone who was actually editing this book who had the requisite knowledge of English to be able to edit this book allow this through?! This word has had no significant presence in English for 200 years. I doubt that 1 in 1000 native speakers of English have ever seen this word in a text of any sort let alone know the meaning of it.2. The translation given is not the one used in the example sentence. I had the same issue with the Italian Mastery book mentioned above. This leads to the example sentence being at best difficult to understand and at worst to the learner becoming confused. Why two stars and not one? Well, that is because there are so few resources for Swedish. If you ignore the example sentences and translations and find your own, you do at least have something reasonable to guide you to start learning a base vocabulary. I will point out, though, that Wiktionary has a frequency list and the shtooka project offers a nice collection of over 4000 audio samples that they call Base "Audio Libre De Mots Suédois" (Swedish Words Free Audio Database) where all of the nouns are included in their indefinite form (preceded by the indefinite article). Combined with Reverso Context and a resource like Dacucar's Swedish-English Dictionary, you will have an excellent way to improve your vocab. In my opinion, this book simply is not worth the additional effort required to compensate for its problems.
