15 Fresh California Hass Avocados

CAVEAT-DO NOT ORDER FROM POLAR BEAR! MY REVIEW IS SOLELY BASED ON DEALING WITH MORRO CREEK RANCH!I have ordered Morro Creek Ranch several times and not once have I been disappointed. I am on the East coast and shipping is very fast. Sure, there is an occasional bruise or ding on an avocado but that is easily cut away. These always arrive mostly ripe so I take the softest ones out (usually 3 or 4) to use right away and the rest go in a crisper drawer in the fridge. Since I eat one or 2 avocados per day (Keto/Paleo WOE), there is never any waste or fruits gone bad. These are smooth, creamy and delicious. I sometimes cut one open, remove the seed, grind some pink Himalayan sea salt on it and eat it as a snack. These are great in a protein shake or stuffed with tuna or egg salad.The company used to pack these in popcorn but have stopped in the past year or so. Fine with me-that was always an awful mess.For what avocados cost in the stores on the East coast, and the often poor quality of what is stocked, I consider these a bargain rather than a luxury item and will continue to purchase them.8/18/18 NOTE: Be vigilant about who the shipper is! I was not and have had THREE negative experiences ordering Hass avocados when Polar Bear Store was the shipper. A-Polar Bear claims an order has been shipped but "is unable to provide tracking." Why? Because they wait up to 10 days before they ship, then "magically" there is a tracking number. B. Polar Bear consistently sends avocados that are black and rock hard upon arrival but within 3-4 days, every single one is covered in grey mold and almost liquid inside and clearly inedible. This has happened to me THREE times. I have no idea if they freeze the avocados first but they are utterly rotten through and through. C. Every order that Polar Bear Store has filled has had avocados the size of hen's eggs and they have been inedible on top of that.

I tossed them in the trash - I thought I would try it but wished i would have not purchased these - they were all past ripe and mushy!

I purchased these as a Christmas gift for a friend who LOVES avocados and eats them daily. We hopped on a video call when she received her package and I was ale to see that the avocados arrived in perfect, unripe condition. They are cushioned in popped popcorn and there was a very helpful card enclosed that gave instructions on how best to store them. My friend was thrilled with her gift -- she ate every single one and said they were very delicious. Her local stores don't carry California Avocados and while she's loves pretty much any avocado, she said these were MUCH better tasting than what she is able to buy in her stores. I will definitely purchase from Morro Creek Ranch again.

I really hate to say anything negative, I have purchased from Morro Creek for years. Most recently I have had two orders shipped via Polar Bear, both orders had small avocados, a couple have been smashed, just not the quality I have been accustomed to.

DO NOT order these. These are Not Morro Creek Ranch avocados! The shipper should be ashamed of themselves trying to pull this off...they all are all over ripe, banged up, with blemishes all over them.Morro Creek are always shipped in a box containing popcorn, they are bright green, triple A quality.Do Not Order these!

Was so excited to have these since I can't go to the store right now!... but 3 were way past ripe and had to get thrown away. Some of them were not even 3", so that was a bummer. About 1/3 were not acceptable for my recipe. If seller will send 5-6 really nice into people avocados I would change my opinion?! Thx!

We received our order of 15 California Hass avocados 5 days after ordering. They arrived in good condition, with two of the 15 fruits soft enough to eat right away, and only a few on the other end of the spectrum - rock hard. So we will have a good supply of ripe avocados for days to come. Only thing is, there was nothing in the package certifying that they really are California-grown avocados, which is what we paid for. We lived in California for many years and after moving to Michigan really miss not having California avocados. Our local stores say they only stock Mexican. Clue: Some padding material that came with the avocados had labels that said "Product of Mexico". They may or may not have belonged to our particular shipment, but now we wonder. We just found out you can buy real California-grown Hass avocados directly from Morro Creek Ranch for the same price as the ones we just got. We may do that next time.

I have several food sensitivities and 6 true food allergies. I can't have dairy or any nuts that can be made into milk. I use avocados to give my breakfast protein shakes body. I just thought it would be a good idea, and it tastes wonderful. These are very fresh. I kept them in my freezing cold garage for a week or so, and shelled them and spritzed with lemon juice to freeze them. I'll take each out as needed. So much more economical than the grocery store, and better tasting! I will purchase again.
