The containers held up (though they got crappy looking) but the lids
I've been using Rubbermaid storage containers for about 30 years. Mostly, I had always used the set with the blue lids. The containers held up (though they got crappy looking) but the lids, over time, didn't fit the containers anymore. My only guess is they shrunk in the dishwasher. I emailed Rubbermaid with the question on the lid shrinking. The sent me a coupon for $10. No response to my inquiry, just the coupon. They also closed the case, as they called it. I tried to contact them one more time but, apparently, closing the case prevented me from being able to reply to them. Their way of blowing me off. How nice of them. I just sent them another, separate email, telling them what I thought of it. Anyway, two years ago, I thought I'd give the bpa free set a try. Within a year and a half all the containers started developing cracks, one by one. My guess this time is that the bpa had contributed to the strength of the older containers, which means the new bpa free containers are weaker. Couple that with the heat of a dishwasher and the plastic cracks. Just my guess. I have another set of these containers that I keep in my rv and so far they haven't developed any cracks. I don't have a dishwasher in my rv so they're hand washed. Also, they only get used when I'm on the road. The containers are listed as dishwasher safe, they shouldn't crack. I have some other bpa free plastic and none of it has cracked from being washed in the dishwasher. Not yet anyway. I'm going to email Rubbermaid about the cracking and see how they respond. All this has gotten me back to using glass jars more, the way people did before plastic took over the world. I still continue to use my cracked containers. When the cracks get bad enough to cause leaking they'll be tossed in the recycle bin. Sometimes plastic is more practical, like when travelling, but I'll be looking for another brand for that.

The Red lid Premier set are the better ones!
I like the Rubbermaid Premier line. I have all three of their products in the storage sets. I'm not too crazy about the ones with the solid lids, the bowls stain easily and the lids are hard to place and remove, but the Premier line with the clear top lids and the clear bowls are worth the extra money in my opinion. I first started out with the red-lid set and later ordered another and received the blue-lid set - while they both work great I still find these with the red lids to be easier to seal and remove than the blue ones and are my favorite to use. Unless the red ones are all in use I don't use the blue or the solid red ones I own. This set came with a nice surprise and that was a larger round container I wasn't expecting. I hope they never stop making the red lid Premiers, though the first set I bought is many years old and still look and function as when they were new, sometimes you misplace one at a friends house and need to order more...

One day I got sick of my old mismatched food storage containers
So I'd been grousing forever about the sad state of my leftover and make ahead food storage containers. I had a lot of really old 10+ years Rubbermaid clear containers that I nursed along but one by one they were finally so old and cracking I HAD to get new ones. I settled on the Premier line to avoid stains (I make red sauces ahead and freeze which stain terribly the usual containers). I'm delighted with these except they are all square..no round ones anymore, but there is probably a good reason. The sizes in this set are good, although 1/2 cup is really tiny, but I've found a use or two for them. They are a nice set and I'm happy enough to buy more and relegate my beloved old Rubbermaid to its final resting place apart from my kitchen

I love the 'Premier' pieces so much I've order 2 sets ...
I love the 'Premier' pieces so much I've order 2 sets of them. They are great, durable and hold up well to daily use. I use them to take my lunch to work, store items (vegetables, shredded cheese, dressing for my salad, etc.). Although the price might seem high to some, I don't see having to replace anytime in the near future. If you're looking for something that will hold up for the foreseeable future, purchase this set and you won't regret.I will say that I bought a set of these at the 'Wal-Mart' Black-Friday sale and I thought they were the same thing. Don't be fooled because the cheap $10 set you get at Wal-Mart is not the higher quality ones that you are looking at.

Good set, wife loves it.
Great container set for a small household -- price is reasonable and the containers are dishwasher safe, easily stackable for storage, and appear to clean up well from even the most stubborn and greasy foods (ala spaghetti sauce). The only thing about this set is that it only contains one, large bowl for large serving sizes -- for larger families that deal with lots of leftovers, a couple of bowls of the large size bought as a supplement to the set would be wise. I could go for less of the micro-sized serving containers and have at least one more large bowl - that would make the set perfect.

Good Containers - Buy 'Em.
I really like these containers. Reason for the one star deduction - they claim they are stain resistant but I have a couple to show that they are not stain-proof and shouldn't have any because of the time I purchased them and observed the stains. Providing customization of the containers from a pre-determined selection would be nicer. Only need so many <10 oz containers. The lids seal well and the containers can be dropped and won't crack or break - I've "tested" this! They look good, they are dishwasher safe, microwaveable, and labels stick well to them. Buy 'em.

Well designed, soft lids that work well and store well
I already had some of these and like them so much that I bought the entire set and plan to replace most of the plastic ware that I have. These are excellent. They stack well both in storage and in the refrigerator. They are easy to see through and know what is in them, as well as good storage and they seal quite well. The only drawback, is I dropped one the other day and it hit the floor just right and the seal was broken and therefore leaked onto the floor. That is not normal use, but it did happen! : )
