Yes it works 😀
The media could not be loaded. Installed in my boat to have 2 Raymarine multifunction displays network together. This saved me from having to buy 2 chart plotters costing $200 per year in subscription. The issue I had is passing either ends of the network cable, which is 3/4”, through a 1” stainless steel pipe with more wires and tight curves. so I had to cut the cable to pass it through, against the advise of the manufacturer Raymarine. Even the dealer near by couldn’t help with instructions on how to rejoin the cable and I’m not a technical person at all. I’m very happy I came across this box during my search for a solution. This product came with everything I needed to rejoin the cable again. My cable was shielded and had a drain wire (ground). This was the only box with a a slut for the ground wire to go.One of the reviews raised a concern about the shielding of the box because it was made from plastic vs some conductive material for shielding. I made a simple video for the non-technical folks, like me, to show that the plastic is covered with a conductive film for shielding, based on information from customer support, but I waned to confirm it. I could have used continuity setting in my multimeter but decided to make even simpler by passing 12v current through it from a battery. Thanks Tripp Lite for a high quality product, in addition to a great customer support.

It works. It’s plastic.
It is far less substantial than what the picture eludes to. It is shielded. From what? That’s difficult to say. Aliens, Dragons, CIA scanners, The Chinese? Who knows. But it is protected from something and in a world where everything is trying to get you, I sleep a little bit better knowing that one less thing will try and steal this or the precious wires it contains. There was no speed loss with this and it saved me from having to make 2 ethernet ends so I’m a happy camper.

Works OK -- but with a couple of notes
1. Shielded? Really? How does one do that with a plastic case that has the FIRST APPEARANCE of being metal?2. If one wants to tie-wrap the cable in place before punchign down one can no longer use the screw holes and the device cannot be mounted with screws. Huh?> Yes, really. One MUST install the device first, then punch it down. (Yea ... try that when making a splice in a basement or in a crawl space when the "box" has to be installed [and punched down] over one's head.)Having said that ... While the designer of this product likely never used it in the field, it does work. Tripp-Lite makes good stuff and stands behind them but the design of this product could certainly be improved. (Shielded -- really? -10dB? -100dB? At what frequencies?)

Worked perfectly
I needed to move a network port from low on a wall to behind a wall mounted TV. I spliced on to the end of a CAT5e cable and added about 10 feet to a new port. I continued to see 500Mb/s throughput so it was fine for this purpose and probably any other CAT5e application.

Does the job! Inside punchdown perfect.
This part is great. It totally solves the problem of a break or animal chewing of ethernet in the house. This was very easy, instructions included - it's not the same as terminating an end jack or cable...so follow instructions. My run was over 150' and there was no signal loss felt, and by the numbers it was not detected.

fairly expensive, but works.
Repaired a Cat6 run to a Unifi protect camera. Handled POE with no issue. Straight forward install. Used the included two sided tape to mount the box. Not sure how this one differs from the white/unshielded version other than plastic chrome color and price.

Joining a radar ethernet cable.
I had to cut a radar ethernet cable to route it. This box allowed me to rejoin the cable. Operationally working as expected with no interference showing on the display.

This is not metal It is spray painted plastic.
This isn't much different than a $3 plastic one. This is plastic not metal as described. This is an insane price for this. Was hoping for some shielding with metal.

Handy!
This is a great little device. So useful when the line is short, or broke. I use it on a main connection from the router and using the neflix test site 'fast", I can achieve 360mbytes with this on the line. It works!

Easy to use and it works
I chose this to extend a cat 5e cable and within 5 minutes the job was done. Tested with a FLUKE tester and the connection is perfect. Easy to pop off the top and reassemble. It's a good product for those times you might need to extend a cable.
