Good Fit, Good Results
Used this on my John Deere D100. Improved my steering back to new. The quality of the parts are good, but only time will tell about the durability. But for the price of this kit and it's results, I couldn't be happier.

Worked perfectly and wasn't too bad to install.
This is the second time I did this repair in my now 20 year old tractor. I'm going to try to keep it as long as possible and $25 was much less than the first time I bought it. It went on easy and seems to be good quality. I was shorted a bolt and nut but I just used the old one. Overall 1 day delivery and I'm cutting grass again.

Steering sector and pinion gear plus bushings
Very complete kit at a GREAT price. Perfect fit for my John Deere LA105 riding mower. It is also noticeably easier to steer after the overhaul. The new bolt was nice, but the old one didn't look too bad. Bushing ID was significantly smaller than the one removed. In my case, it would have been a mistake not to replace it.

Does not come with everything needed
Installed on a Deere 135 (not LA or L), and it fit well and seemed to work great and installed well, but within a couple of days the pinion gear started clicking, and within a week it was nearly undrivable. The sector gear still looked good so I decided to go to the Deere dealer and replace the pinion gear with an original part. Same thing happened just took a bit longer. So what gives? Turns out it's actually missing a small washer that goes between on of the bolts and the sector gear. That 0.1" washer (#25 on the diagram) makes all the difference. Found one in my shop, bought another new pinion and it's been perfect since. In the end it still gets 4 stars since it's far cheaper than the OEM from the local dealer, but remember to add your own washer.

Great replacement product
I got an 08 John Deere lawn mower tractor la165. This was a complete unbolt bolt on situation. That said the product is a great replacement part for your tractor. Before I purchase this I didn't know what I was going to do how much I was going to cost but one thing I knew is I couldn't turn my steering wheel to the left because my gears responding when I purchased this for only a few dollars it took me only a little bit of time and now I'm out of the woods with this one thanks again.

They didn't last very long
My husband and son installed this on our John Deere L118. The gears wore out in the middle of the yard the second time they mowed after installation. I suppose my husband may have installed them wrong but I doubt it he fixes an awful lot around here. We believe these are just cheap gears that don't last.

This is definitely the right set of parts to address my steering problem (slippage on this exact set of parts). But the slippage persists. Even after using all of the replacement parts? And inspection of all the related elements leaves me wondering...where is the remaining slack coming from? I cannot figure it out? And I had some fairly expert assistance too from two farm farmhands who repair much more complicated things on a frequent basis? Anyways, I am glad it was a cheap "repair". We'll tackle the problem again in the spring.

Replaced in spring for the mowing season and never really found a difference in the parts I removed and the new parts. Will have to replace again.
