Eddie Izzard
We have been huge fans before he became 'famous'. LOVE Eddie's sarcastic style w/o being offensive. He is awesome. When I first introduced him to my husband, hubby was a little unsure. He didn't get Monty Python and the Holy Grail either. My kids and I treated this as a test. Thought for sure the guy was out. It you didn't get it, or couldn't be amused by it, we'd move on. Well, we stuck with him - and now Eddie Izzard is one of his favorite comedians.I have not found anything of Eddies I don't love. (2012 version of Treasure Island starring Eddie, is highly enjoyable because of him).

Fab Eddie
Highly recommend this + Dress to Kill + Definite Article. If you've seen Eddie on HBO in the US dressed in black leather against a frilly purple stage curtain, this is that show in its entirety. If you've never heard of Eddie Izzard, I'd try one of these three DVDs first. They all have unique material. If you're a Star Wars fan, this Circle DVD has his now-infamous Darth Vader impression (Darth Vader at the cafeteria on the Death Star). My husband loves slap-stick comedy; I love cynical humor; and we both love Eddie.

Spit-Take Funny
Literally, I spit out my coffee all over myself watching this. Eddie Izzard only gets better and funnier with time, and this show was 10 years ago. He's even more acerbic than in Dressed to Kill, and whip-sharp in his observations on humanity and society. If you are an Izzard fan, this is a must. If you like comedy that rises above mediocre observations and crude jokes to being the level of art, watch this.

Izzard's comedy is not for all to enjoy. His transvestitism is a little distracting
Izzard's comedy is not for all to enjoy. His transvestitism is a little distracting, but the brilliance of his comedy comes from the breadth of his knowledge about history, religion, and the complexities of life as it is. Watching his comedy is like slipping into his own brain and the seemingly random connections that he makes between the sublime and the ridiculous. After the laughs--and there are many--you will feel as though you have been entertained by someone who has also slipped in some profound insights along with some wisdom. If you do not find yourself doing a little historical exploring after you have watched him, you have missed part of the fun and part of the point.

Favorite comedian
In the past, I had to record his specials on video, which didn't always turn out very well. So I was really happy when Amazon had his performance. I love to introduce him to some other people who had never heard of him.

Try Him!
Do give this unique performer a try. Not everyone's cuppa tea perhaps but I think he's marvelous. His bit on the scenes left out of Star Wars is hilarious.

Always delivers
Awesome, Eddie Izzard is an amazing comedian who doesn't get by on dick jokes or stupid humor. He takes historical events, and people and cultures and puts a comical spin on them that is definitely entertaining.

Eddie is genius.
I am a big big fan of Eddie and have all of his dvd's and cd's. This is pretty good, not as funny as D2K or Definite Article. But it would be my third favorite. It's a definite buy for Eddie fans, and has to be within the 50 best comedians of are time.

Eddie Izzard at his best!
Well where do I start? Overall I would say this is one of Eddie's best. I wouldn't go so far to say it was definately 'the best', no doubt Dress to Kill takes the number one spot. But this is a worthy package and will satisfy many Izzard fans. Especially the Star Wars - Canteen on the Death Star at the end. For some though you may find the overall show a little too short - only 80 mins in comparison to Dress to Kill, nearly a whopping 120 mins. However the ultimate prize is an audio commentary by Eddie himself and if that wasn't enough, a 55 min live show from Paris (with an audio commentary as well!) where Eddie speaks French and still manages to pull off his usual antics with ease! Some classic D2K moments are re-told here including the "Mouse, Cat and Monkey" and I found that it generally came out much better. Thankfully there are English subtitles so you won't get lost. There is a 30 min documentary on the main show and a cool trivia game. Overall this DVD is a must buy and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone. I just can't wait for Eddie's older work to arrive on DVD because some of the good stuff is the old stuff. I just think he is a pure genius and he is my favourite stand-up comedian and I know it sounds corny but he is a major part of my life. Keep going Ed!!!

Almost complete!
Not watched it yet (sure it'll be as good as other Eddie Izzard shows), however bit disappointed already. Despite being sealed in cellophane there must have been some sort of insert with the details of the recording, runtime etc, unfortunately this was missing. There are the clips to hold it, and as there are no details at all on the exterior apart from titles and photos, clearly it should be inside. Disappointing.

the funniest man alive
eddie izzard is surely the funniest comedian ever. this show was recorded in 2000 in new york, and is absolutly hillarious. the way eddie manages to incorporate accurate world history into his sets is amazing, and his writing and delieverence are always spot on.i laughed out loud on many occasions, as i always do with eddie izzard. absolutely brilliant stuff.on the dvd you get a WHOLE live set in the extras! it's a very different version of his dress to kill show with some of the circle tour material, that eddie recorded in french, in france (don't worry, there are subtitles if you dont know french). you also get full commentary tracks for both the performances, as well as a documentary and a pc screensaver. super duper duper

The funniest man alive...
The best recorded show performed by Eddie Izzard. Great extra material that reveal a lot of Mr. Izzard's talent particularly the footage of the show performed in France using exclusively the french language. No one will 'ever' be able to handle the sound disaster during the show at NY like Eddie did. The world is the limit for this outstanding entertainer. A "must have" item to all comedy fans.

Funny
Izzard seems to have lost his way recently. This goes back to time when he was perhaps just past his best but still very funny. His humour isn't to everyone's liking but if you like it you won't be disappointed. His earlier works are however better than this one.
