This 24V to 12V DC-DC Converter has proven to be a reliable solution for my power conversion needs in my portable power station. The unit can get quite warm/hot under heavy load, so I would add adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. This is you plan on running it a lot. Mine never gets hot under the general use it gets. Only when I stress test it at full wattage for over 30+ minutes. Additionally, while this unit is generally reliable, the absence of detailed instructions might pose a challenge for folk who are not familiar with electrical installations. Ensuring correct wiring and setup is essential to avoid potential issues. Electric fires are no fun.Overall, if you need a dependable step-down converter for your 24V to 12V needs, this product is a strong contender for its low price point. Just be prepared to manage its heat output and ensure you have a basic understanding of electrical connections. Its performance and durability make it worth considering for all types of projects like my DIYs.

We are using this to step 48vdc down to 12vdc in a Golf Cart. The 12vdc will be used for lights, horn, etc. Many golf carts just take the 12vdc off of one of the 4 each, 12v batteries, but that can lead lower voltage in that battery, and an unbalanced battery bank. Use of a step down transformer eliminates that issue. Appears well made, and install should be a breeze!

Nice affordable converter. Ive used many of these to power light kits on golf carts, havnt had one fail yet.

This works fine inside but when exposed to cold (temps around freezing or below), the output voltage is about 7.5 V. If I bring it inside with my 24 V backup, the temp will start being around 12 V. I was hoping to use this on a small (300 W max) inverter to run some lights on the outside (but protected from precipitation) but even though the load from my charge controller would turn on, the inverter hooked to this will not unless it is an evening that is above freezing temperatures. This is a common issue with all of these devices because they are simple and don't adjust themselves for temperature (resistors, capacitors, wire in general) have markedly different conductive/capacitance qualities at various temperatures. Device works. Beware that probably all devices in this class behave like this, and if one wants a really stable 24-12 power supply, one needs to get something that costs about 10 times more from Victron. Currently using one that I actually just had being mostly unused. Synopsis: For situations where the temp is measurably above freezing, say 5 C (maybe 40 F), these devices will work.

I recently upgraded my old Club Car DS over to one single 36-volt lithium battery instead of six lead acid batteries. All the lights and accessories on the golf cart are 12-volt and they will burn out if you connect them directly to a 36-volt battery. This was very easy to connect, and it works perfectly. I'm sure that there is some parasitic draw, but my lithium battery has a button to completely shut it down so that nothing can draw any power from it. This is a must if you upgrade to a single lithium battery, and I highly recommend this to do the voltage drop you will need.

Failed after 6 months of lite use.

I purchased this to convert a dehumidifier from 110 to 12v compatible for my camper van. Saves 4 - 5 watts when running now that I can bypass the inverter. Nothing more to say it functions fine seems well built and makes everything more efficient. Good solid product.

I install a ton of these in the golf carts I service. They work great and are easy to install.
