excellent read!
What a beautifully written book. I’ve enjoyed the whole series. I like the different spin on a romance series. Definitely recommend!

Honest and Enjoyable
Heartfelt love story that is sweet, interesting, and written well. What I liked: I loved the heroine. She wasn't wildly stupid like you see in series' like this (i.e. doing things she shouldn't just to spite people) and she actually listens to the dangers going on around her. She doesn't let a new romance ruin her life or her friendships. It was refreshing to have a heroine do the right thing even if it was killing her, rather than do what was easy and create even more problems for herself and those around her. LOVED that about her. The romance was honest and pure and the characters really did work towards having a real relationship. Finally, how the author ended the book was downright adorable, and again done well. It left the story open for more to be written, but wasn't a cliffhanger. Props to the author for that, because lately all the books I've read have either had a poor ending, or they all end in cliffhangers. What I didn't like: The author does this build up to the climax of the book, and when you get there it falls kinda flat. I know the scene that was supposed to be *it* but it just felt like a battle before the war. Overall a minor complaint in my opinion for a well done and enjoyable book.

Wonderful read!
I absolutely loved this book. It was wonderfully written and well thought out. I especially loved the character development and the little surprises here and there. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Light and engaging but author liberally “borrows”
Like Twilight, this is a breezy read that is good for mindless escapism. I enjoyed the characters, and it’s nice to have secondary characters that are fleshed out and interesting. Declan is a strong, smart female - while she’s just as infatuated with Alexander as Bella was with Edward, it doesn’t reduce her to Bella’s drippiness. The plot is pretty much the same as Twilight, with outright copying: it’s dangerous for you to be my friend, the secluded round nature spot, Jane Eyre/the Austins jump to mind. And then the author borrows some True Blood stuff for good measure. I found the all the unoriginal items to be very distracting; it prevented me from getting immersed in the story, making for a choppy reading experience. I found myself skimming over the last few chapters so not sure I’ll read the rest of the series. However, if you’ve finished Midnight Sun and are looking for something Twilight-ish, this isn’t awful. (I also read the sample of Crave, another series that is compared to Twilight, and after reading those first few chapters had zero interest in reading more - this book is definitely better than that one.)

A Heart-Touching Book--Highly Recommended!
I didn't know what to expect when I started reading the "Look Inside" sample of this e-book, but found to my delight that Guardian is a surprisingly well-written story. After sampling the first couple chapters on Amazon, I ordered it for my Kindle. The author has a gift for bringing the reader right into the book, making you become an integrated part of the story and its characters--and, most importantly, caring what happens to them, which is always the sign of a good read. As I read chapter after chapter, unable to put the book down, I honestly felt as if I were there with Declan and Alexander -- and Liz and Finn. Luckily I am on vacation, so I was able to finish the book in one uninterrupted read -- it's one of those page turners that grabs you from the very beginning. I had to find out what happened. The author is a great tale-spinner, leaving the door open for more adventures of the characters in future books.I cried in some of the parts--they were so touching. I especially love Finn and his "gumball" honesty. He is one of my favorite characters in the book. I think anyone who reads this book is going to want to read the next one ... and the next ... and any other books by this author, who is definitely a mesmerizing story teller.I could feel the great love between Alexander and Declan as it was being described. Unlike some of the romance novels of today that feel somehow drily related as if by an observer, rather than felt and real to the core, the love between these characters touched my heart and made me feel the truth of their bond. It brought tears to my eyes to read--and to feel--the soul-to-soul connection and love that probably each of us longs for in our secret depths. It seems to me that only one who has experienced it could write that expressively about it. In this book the characters come to life. The conversations pop off the page, drawing the reader deeper into the story. Being able to write believable back-and-forth conversational flow is a gift, and this writer assuredly has that gift. The love story is combined perfectly with suspense, which gives it the captivating quality that keeps you dangling, wondering what in the world could possibly be coming next. It's all tied together by the author, who draws the threads tightly around the well-woven plot.I think this story would make a great movie. It would appeal not only to young adults--but to people of all ages who have a touch of the romantic in them--and, really, who doesn't? All in all, I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more from A. J. Messenger.

Sweet angel romance
Wow, there were so many things I enjoyed about this book. It was exactly what I was looking for - a sweet, cute, romantic read. I read through it quickly because I just had to know what would happen to the characters. Speaking of characters, I have to say that I absolutely loved the character of Finn. I've never seen a character in YA fiction with Asperger's, and it was refreshing to read about such a character in a YA novel for once -- well done, AJ Messenger! I adored him from the moment he first appeared and many of his lines made me laugh out loud. Nice to have some diversity in the cast. The main character, Declan, was also very likeable. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and panic attacks in the past, I could definitely relate to her struggles. Again, nice to see characters with three dimensional problems and personalities. I also really liked all the parents in the book, especially Declan's relationship with her mom, which was very sweet. Finally I enjoyed the refreshing take on angels and energy and good vs evil. It made the story unique and fresh. The romance between Alexander and Declan felt real and not rushed or cheesy, and you can't help but root for them and their powerful love. Definitely recommend for fans of angel romances.

Awesome
Such a beautiful story of love and hope and also a refreshing idea that angels are amongst us guiding our souls and protecting us from darkness, I know it's just a fictional story but it does inspire the thought that it could actually be?

Pretty good book, but shares a lot with other YA novels
The book was a slow start to get into, and some of the wording choices for things was a little off putting, but I pushed through and ended up enjoying the book. From reading it, there is some aspects of this book that remind me of a few different YA novels that I've read, Twilight and The Immortals series being two of the major ones that come to mind. But the further I read, the more I enjoyed the plot points that were different. I like the mythology at play, and after the first few chapters I found it easy to enjoy. I like the characters for the most part. I think it's helpful to look at the book from the perspective that it is YA, which allowed me to look past some of the flaws I found in the book. It did get better as I read, and I will look forward to seeing what happens in the next.

Teenage romance
Good girl who struggles privately with anxiety meets a new boy and life as she knows it changes forever.Nice opening story in this series. Very easy to read, with good characters and dialogue. The story is simple and a real page turner. Aimed at a teenage audience but I enjoyed it all the same.No graphic scenes just sweet and wholesome.
