-Worked out great. Didn’t need soften them up - but left them in the sun on purpose while scraping out the original ones with a paint scraper followed by a stiff bristle brush to ensure all the dirt / pollen was removed. Did six pieces/24 legs without any issues.-While folks recommended pliers to fasten, i didn’t need them. Instead, once i was able to get them attached i’d flip the chair / table back over and use the rubber mallet method with a block of wood to avoid damaging the paint and to have them permanently snap in place.-I did have one deformed metal caster so I ended up siping one cap to get it to insert… then tapped like the rest of them.-So, _rubber mallet or sledge, _block of wood, _box knife, _stiff bristle brush, and a _scraper. Easy work- :20-:30 min tops for all six. Would recommend to anyone.

Heat them in hot water put them in the center and smack it hard with a hammer. They work well. Some don't go in easily but once you get the hang of it. They are great!

All but one tapped easily into the bottom of my 1 1/2" ID chair and table legs cup. Product not at fault, the bottom of the leg had a little bit of wear ( Internal Burr) from not having a cap for couple of yrs. All I had to do was de-burred the ID of the leg and the cap then installed correctly. Not as thick of material as I thought they would be. My Original leg and table caps are15 years old and only 8 of 20 of them needed replaced. Have to wait and see how these wear on Cement patio..

These replacement pads worked perfectly! They were easy to put on, just tapped them with a rubber mallet. They're the perfect solution to prevent our wood deck from being scratched from the iron feet of the chairs and table.

A fantastic exact fit for old rusted outdoor chairs that were leaving marks on the rug. Using a dremel to knock off the rust helps with an easy installation via a mallet.

Like many other comments, these were somewhat difficult to install, but with the aid of very hot water and a small hammer they went on satisfactorily. The issue I'm having is the lack of traction between the new chair feet and my deck - there is none which I feel is a significant safety hazard. I might try scuffing the feet with some fine sandpaper.
