Will Shortz Presents The Little Black Book of Sudoku: 400 Puzzles

Love love love Will Shortz sudoku books. I’ve had so many over the years. This book is a hardcover with a spiral and I keep it in the car for moments im a passenger princess. My 8 year old daughter tries to take it from me as well

I have several copies in my bookcases as I use these wonderful books of word puzzles as gifts and for my enjoyment! Why? Because I've learned that reading, puzzle completions and human conversations are critical to a happy and successful time during your senior years. PS. I also give these as gifts to those of all ages, e.g. grandchildren, adult children, even book club friends and neighbors. Great all purpose gift!

You can trust the Will Shortz sudoku puzzles to be solvable. That is the key to any good puzzle. I have tried some cheaper ones and their poor design creates puzzles that violate some of the rules of sudoku design. Go with a respected puzzle designer.

It is a hardcover spiral, very big numbers, my dad will love it because he has sight problems.

When I chose a Sudoku book I look not only at the quality of puzzles, which actually vary little from book to book, but also at portability. This one has a nice selection of puzzles and is well designed but for one significant problem.I want a book that I can take anywhere and use easily, which means it needs to be a reasonable size and it must lay flat, so that it can be held open in one hand with only the page you are working on visible.Being spiral bound, as this one is, usually takes care of the use ability issue. The publishers started out with an excellent book and then screwed it up by adding a cover that won't allow you to open it so that you are presented with only one page.Compared to most typically bound puzzle books this one is excellent The puzzles and labels are good and the pages are well designed. However, if you prefer the convenience of a spiral bound book you may be disappointed. Unless you just remove the cover, as I did.

Great puzzles, 100 each of light, moderate, demanding, and very challenging sudoku puzzles. Paper is thick and high quality, does not disintegrate when erasing. I took another reviewer's suggestion and cut off the binding around the spiral so now the book can lay flat and is much much easier to work in. Highly recommend getting this book and doing the same.

I like that it starts out easy and gradually advances. Good for brain.

I got this book as a present for my wife who just loves Sudoku. Well, she really likes this book, particularly the paper the puzzles are on. She's used to the "el cheapo" books that use paper similar to that used for newsprint. She said, since she does erase every now & then, that the Little Black Book's pages withstand erasures much better than the "el cheapos." She likes the spiral binding as well and hasn't complained about any problems with it. After reading some reviews from other folks who had complaints about the binding, I almost didn't get this book. I'm glad I did....I now have a happy wife, at least until the end of this book.
