The most beautiful needle lace is the silk one.The only equipment and materials used are a needle, thread and scissors.It is made by taking the needle and thread and forming loops which are tightened into knots. The olive branches symbolize peace .This necklace is an inspiration from nature. A very unique one.. This type of stitching is known as oya which has been used in scarves of Anatolian women for centuries. The picture does not do justice to the stunning artisan work. Although it may look a little like crochet or tatting, this earring is actually made of hundreds of tiny knots, each made one-at-a-time with needle and fine silk thread. The item is done with an ancient lace / embroidery technique "knot stitch" from start to finish so it takes hours to complete the entire item. -as well as years of experience. Put the items in a bowl filled with warm water and some liquid detergent. Shake the bowl gently a few minutes. After rinsing, lay it down to air dry. Do NOT wring the items. It can be washed with warm water and soap in a jar. And it does NOT deform at all. The stitches are very tight and strong too so they do not break up. Materials : Needle lace I used cotton thread which makes the necklace very soft. No metal findings used in making this necklace.
