I’ve played chess since kindergarten, and I have collected chess boards my whole life. I really like this board. It’s solid, the perfect size, the pieces are really nice. I love the individual storage for the pieces so they aren’t hitting and knocking each other. The set is even prettier in person than in the pictures. It’s a great value for the money, and several of my friends will be receiving gifts of these.

So there are not “24 bonus checkers”—24 checkers—12 on each side—is the minimum needed to start a game. As such, we didn’t have enough checkers to make kings.Also, the checkers don’t fit into each other when you stack two on top of each other to make kings. As such the checkers on top of the king kept falling off the bottom piece.The checkers portion—haven’t tried the chess side yet—is poorly designed and thought out. Even though it looks nice, I wish I’d gotten a different set.

Really nice chess set ... quality is great / the board is beautiful - pieces are well made / the really cool part is the foam cut interior for storage / the cutouts are perfect / even for the checkers pieces are perfectly cut - overall this Chess Set is a winner !!!

I can't afford a really well made 200$ chess board/pieces just for chess but this is a great cheap one, I never liked when they put magnets don't like the resistance when I move a pieces that's why I picked this, it's one that doesn't have the magnets, everything light but the pieces aren't too light tho.

6 grandchildren, all different ages found chess to be fun. But bonus was 5 year old could also be includded in the play frenzied atmosphere with playing checkers. Thank you made a long weekend of babysitting a success.
