Just like old time BBC radio
Three short stories, well acted and interesting whodunits is like listening to the radio in the 40's and 50's..not that I did but my mum and dad did. There are three individual stories and very much like the usual Agatha Christie yarns. The only sad thing is that they are fairly short..I wish they were longer, but enjoyable never-the-less. I listen to them while I'm driving and find the good fun.

Lacks the Brilliance of Agatha Christie
I've read about everything Agatha Christie had written.I don't believe these scrips were actually based on an Agatha Christiestory. The voice acting was fine the writing and plot, well they justdidn't have the brilliance of Agatha Christie. I was disappointed. These appear to be only based on the Miss Marple characterand they were murder mysteries. Maybe that is enough for you but personally not for me.

Simple stories
The stories were new to me and I enjoyed them but it seemed that it didn't take long to listen to them.

Vivid, well-acted adaptations gain from extra characters
This is a review of the BBC dramatised versions of three stories: The Tape-Measure Murder, The Perfect Maid, and Sanctuary. I really enjoyed them. The adaptor has trusted the stories and left the mysteries and much of the dialogue as it is (though I missed the line "if that hair of hers is real I'll eat my own back switch"). The tales are told through dialogue and Miss M is given two Watsons: Bunch Harmon, the vicar's wife, and Raymond West, her nephew. Raymond is here turned into a detective story writer struggling with a plot Christie fans will recognise as Endless Night. He moves into his aunt's spare room to work it out, and they reminisce about the game they used to play as the Tuesday Night Club - trying to solve cold cases. This is a formula with legs...

Excellent
I've always enjoyed the BBC radio dramatisations of the Miss Marple novels, starring June Whitfield, and pre-ordered this as soon as I heard about the new productions. Thoroughly enjoyable, as with the longer items, but with slighter plots which fit into the 30 minute format-excellent for car journeys. I hope that the BBC and Miss Whitfield can make other, similar, productions in the near future.

The queen of crime
Great cast and, June Whitfield make a good Marple, we all know the stories from the many iterations on the TV but the imagination has more to do when you don't have a picture to help.Highly recommended.Larry Crabb

Agatha Christie at her best
I am a great Miss Marple fan and thought these audio tapes would be a great present for my 96 year old grandmother who is nearly blind. She loves them too and we listen to them together regularly when I go to see her. Agatha Christie at her best.

Easy Listening
June Whitfield as Miss Marple is excellent as ususal. The cd provides a variety of easy to listen to short stories that hold the interest. A nice addition to own alongside all the 'bigger' cases she has already solved. Good purchase.
