Saris Solo Trunk Rack Single Bike 6/Box Black

Excellent small rack fits in any trunk. Holds my Trek road bike securely.

i like the bike rack but it was missing the anti sway strap that's supposed to come with it. it wasn't in the box. it didn't even come in a standard Saris box, it was some reused box with old shipping label on it.

We wanted to take a BMX bike to Cornwall and owning a small car (Fiesta), I looked at all the racks available. It looked like I would have to spend a lot of money £200+ to get something highly recommended or take a chance on a 3 star product. I took a chance and ordered the Saris Solo Bike Rack (The £50 option rather than the earlier £38 model). I read the reviews and took account of the requirement to protect the car body before fitting (lots of clear tape). I also used a number of Velcro straps to secure the cranks and rear wheel (There is a strap for the front wheel included). The rack seemed secure and after ten miles I stopped to check and re-tightened the straps. After a tour of North Cornwall 300 miles plus I can report that the rack worked perfectly with the BMX bike, that it was easy to fit and remove, and that, with the proper care, it left no marks. I feel confident now that even if a change my car (or we use it on my wife's car)the rack will fit. Since the bike fitted was a relatively small BMX I can understand that if you are fitting a full size mountain or road bike this may be different as the supports are quite narrow, but in this case I would simply add more straps to secure. Very pleased with both product and the usual Amazon Prime next day deliver.

It is true that the straps have to be very tight and that you do need additional bungees and foam on a protruding fork (if you take the wheels off), but it did work well and after the first 50 miles, and several checks, I was able to relax and drive with confidence! I have done about 200 miles of which 70 miles were motorway and the other was more testing (including the Lake District). Don't forget your limits: 65 mph and 35 kg (I had to remove one wheel of the mountain bike to be under the limit, but actually removed both).

Bought for my 2016 Mini Cooper as an emergency measure should I ever need to go and collect my husband from anywhere! Great rack, fits nicely on the back of the mini and doesn't take up much room in the boot, which is a bonus!

This is a good Priced item which has served me well- just got back from Scotland. So the bike rack has had about 20 hours on the road both motorway and singletrack road. It is easy to use and I've had no issues with it at all. My bike is heavier at the back not sure if all bikes are like this so I added a few bungee straps to make sure the bike didn't move at all. Obviously you can't really use your rear windscreen wiper with this on. My car is a Toyota Yaris five door and it was easy to fit. Very happy with this product and price.

You can purchase blocks from Saris to attach to your bike to prevent damage to the car and bike or like me improvise with items such as bubble wrap and foam to achieve the same results. For those people looking for a safe,secure,single bike rack this is the one.
