Featuring a sleek design paired together with aircraft grade carbon fiber, the Nanohawk X retains an extremely lightweight design while keeping rigidity and durability for any flight situation. With a revamped shell designed to reduce vibrations while increasing strength, down to the design of the arms of the aircraft, durability is a key point while minimizing weight as much as possible with no compromises. Designed around a unique power system, the Nanohawk X utilizes 11000KV 12025 Brushless Motors paired together with the Avia NanoX 3 inch propellers, maximizing performance and flight time on a low voltage 4.35V power system. With this power system, control during high speeds and recovery from dives are effortless while also maintaining a flight time of up to 6.5 minutes, keeping pilots in the air longer than other aircraft in its class. From design to power, the Nanohawk X encompasses EMAX's goals of providing a platform for all pilots to experience flight in a reliable package.

Good
I like every thing, but mainly the way it flies.

Range is horrible
I'm getting about 30 yards of range before video is unusable. Another review confirms that some tricky mods to the antenna are needed to get it to be useful. In short, out of the box it is useless for FPV. On the plus side it is nice and quiet and has long flight time. Another problem is it falls out of the sky at 4.0V.

Great toothpick
After flying mine for about 50 flights so far, I can safely say I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a quiet, efficient craft that uses a 1 cell battery. I gave 4 out of 5 stars for durability only because the vtx antenna lost the active element due to only a few crashes. Antenna protection would be advised but is an easy mod.

Simply the best outdoor high speed 1s flyer off the shelf!!!
What's not to like!? Meh, the vtx could be stronger/cleaner and all-in-on to be ultimate. But it's amazing as it is.Fast, agile, incredibly durable! I stepped on it in the woods while searching (I'm not a big guy) but still... took minor crush damage to canopy that is visible but does not effect performance! Right back into the air. Very fast and fixed relatively steep camera angle. If you need flat, level, Uber slow in tight spaces then not for you if not a solid pilot already.Love it!!

Awesome drone for the budget.
Very nice mini drone for beginners

Maybe I was just unlucky, but it broke on the first slightly hard landing
Broke on the first slightly hard landing. I can't see any physical damage, not even a nicked or bent prop, but the drone no longer connects to Betaflight and won't arm or fly. When plugged in LEDs light up and flash in some sequence, but that's it, nothing else works. The frame, props and motors appear perfect, so I can probably strip those parts for a new build, but the FC appears to be dead. In the brief time it flew it seemed like a decent small drone. Very lightweight (probably too lightweight, no strength), the camera image is fairly poor and the FOV is very tight such that it was pretty difficult to tell where you are. Not terrible, but I can't really recommend it based on the image quality and the fact that it broke on the very first flight.

Great drone for beginners, ONLY if you're willing to put the work in!
TL:DR This quad REQUIRES basic upgrades to function properly that may be daunting to newbies. If you're a pro you'll be fine and enjoy this quad. If you're looking for a TRUE bind and fly experience, find something else.Let me start with this, I am still new to the fpv community, but I have countless hours in the sim, as well as some real flight time under my belt over the past few weeks. This quad is the perfect way to move from sim to real life. Its small form factor, tough exterior and paper thin props that bend back into shape, as well as the easy bind & fly operations are a great step into the world of real drone flying. The PID tuning out of the box is great with very minimal propwash, and the RF range isn't half bad either. In a clear area, I can go out a hundred yards or so comfortably. The small size also lends itself to be flown in smaller areas where a 5 inch quad may be too big/annoying. I can comfortably fly this drone in my back yard, and it blows a tiny whoop out of the water. However there are some serious downsides (specifically to the VTX) that I have yet to find in any video review of this drone (ie Nurk FPV).Let's start with the big one: the VTX antenna. It is a linear antenna which doesn't give much visual range, and is completely exposed. After one or two hard crashes, your antenna WILL be destroyed or lost. As a newbie, I thought I was just getting a bad drone and refunded the item three times before realizing that this is just the nature of the construction. This led me to doing an antenna upgrade to a lollypop micro which leads to my next con.The VTX antenna is soldered directly to the board. Now for an experienced pilot, this is no problem. But for someone who is getting into fpv for the first time, the idea of splicing the end of a new antenna, then soldering the tiny pads is very daunting. Not to mention the extra cost of buying all the supplies needed to solder, and potentially ruining your drone by lifting a pad, or soldering two parts together on accident and short circuiting the board. I would've liked to have seen a U.FL connector at the very least, to make upgrading the antenna (which is NOT OPTIONAL with this drone) easier for beginners. Finally, while we're talking about the VTX, it is mounted very close to the ESC/Flight Controller, which I know is necessary to keep the form factor small for this tiny 3 inch drone. However, this leads to a lot of noise in the video. Even after a lollipop upgrade, I found times where the noise made the drone unflyable even 10 feet directly in front of me with no obstacles, running two omni directional antennas on my headset each turned 90 degrees from each other. Once again, pros will know this is a normal thing but as a newbie, I assumed something was wrong and troubleshooted for hours for a solution that didn't exist instead of flying. The Bottom Line:If you're a pro, the upgrades to this drone are easy, and the durability makes this a fun item to have when you want to fly some freestyle in a smaller space that won't allow for a 5 inch, but is too big for a tiny whoop. But if you're a newbie, expect to sink at least a few if not more hours into learning a LOT more about this hobby than you quite thought you had to know at this point, and budget about $150 more to get a GOOD soldering iron and all the necessary equipment to solder and modify this drone properly (mat, flux, 63/37 solder, solder remover, multimeter, new antenna, etc).
