Great things come in small packages
This is a high quality, flexible and very well designed music system. Small systems like this, by their nature, will never replicate a concert sound stage. A set of tower speakers and a bass module would make the Solo seem restrained and thin -- but you'll have great difficulty fitting them on your bedside nightstand. Wisely, Como Audio chose to stick to the truth of the music by creating an instrument that delivers balanced, controlled reproduction in an attractive case that itself is well designed and hearkens back to the furniture craftsmanship of high-end 60s and 70s stereos. You will not hear boomy bass (unless you dial it in via the equalizer) -- but the bass you do hear is tight, well-structured and accurate for most types of music. Mid levels and highs are also well-tuned for the total package. Overall it is significantly lacking in the amped up, fake reproduction that is popular in many contemporary systems. To these ears (recently blessed by an audiologist as being in fine shape) it's one of nicest, smoothest small music system I've heard. And, it fits in a bedroom. In addition you can add an extension speaker (the Ambiente) for true stereo reproduction. All that being said, what I most love about the system is the source flexibility. It is amazing. The Solo can be used as an old school radio for over-the-air transmissions (but why would you?,) as an internet radio receiver (heck, you can pull in Tierra del Fuego on this thing,) can connect to your Spotify account, or you can plug into an aux input and use your high resolution digital audio player (or MP3 player) as your content source. I gave up on over-the-air radio, given the two basic options: all commercial and all talk -- both of which have lousy lyrics & you can't dance to either one. But internet radio? I spend an hour a week cruising the possibilities for new musical options. It works flawlessly on these systems. There's a USB input, and headphone & line-out outputs. Plus, if you own a second (or more) Como unit, you can connect them for single source, multi-room listening. This brings me to my major complaint with the Solo. It does not have a CD player. (Sometimes you just want everything -- even if it's obvious there's no room for "everything" to fit.) A year later Como introduced the Musica -- a unit a bit more than twice the size of the Solo -- which does include a CD player. It sits on the kitchen counter. It offers a bit richer sound and has no problem filling a decent-sized, bright room with decent sized, bright music. It has all the virtues of the Solo. Connecting the two systems is seamless & the multi room function means I can listen to CDs on the Solo in the bedroom. Problem solved. As some other owners found, the control knobs seemed to have been designed with a focus on visual aesthetics rather than ergonomics and the possibility of big fingers. However, Como developed an elegant solution and offer a rubberized cap that fits over the existing knob, matches the color of the preset buttons, & extends the knobs out just far enough while offering a nice, grippy surface. They work quite well. While I often use the remote or the app to control both systems, it's still very convenient to be able to simply turn a knob up or down when I'm nearby.I've had the opportunity to contact Como on several occasions in regard to concerns that, in the end, had little to do with either music system. Their responses were quick -- even to weekend emails -- and they were faultlessly generous with their time and knowledge. If I ever encounter a real problem, I have no doubt it will be resolved quickly.

Solid radio and purchase
This Como Audio unit is a great internet radio. Setting it up took about 20 minutes in the menu selecting the time zone, WiFi, password and then updating the software. After the update I think I made a mistake because I had to enter all the info again. But once that was done everything worked as it should. The remote control is easy to use, the unit is the perfect size for my kitchen table and the sound is great. I was hesitant to purchase this because of some reviewers saying it sounded hollow. In the settings there is an EQ that you can adjust the bass, treble, balance and a loudness button. This should solve any hollowness sound issues you might run into. Its not a boombox but it has some balls. Its great looking, the screen display is clear, fast connection to WiFi and the Bluetooth feature is perfect to listen to music from my iPhone. I found the sound needs to be adjusted for iPhone music listening either through the phone and/or the Como Audio unit. It would be perfect if the unit had a mid-range setting in the EQ for this. The small knobs on the front are an excellent feature although it takes a little getting use to grabbing them. There are thousands of stations and every type of music imaginable to listen to. There are six station pre-sets per source but I wish there were more. Overall I'm very happy with this radio. I've only had it a month but every time I turn it on I'm happy I bought it. I'll update if there's any future problems.

Didn't quite tick all the boxes for me
PROS- Handsome styling, quality construction- Supports multiple music sources- Plenty of connectivity- Buttons, menus and color display provide a satisfying tactile experienceCONS- 6 preset buttons is in no way enough for a device with so many sources- You can't set additional FM presets beyond those 6 multi-source buttons, either in the radio's menu or in the phone app- No HD Radio tuner- No AM radio band- No iHeartRadio stations receivable via the built-in Internet Radio tuner- No Tidal, Deezer, Amazon, Google, TuneIn, Pandora, SiriusXM or other streaming services besides what's baked into the unit's menu which is minimal. Only Spotify and internet radio aggregator Frontier Silicon.- No native voice control, although an Amazon Dot or Chromecast can be plugged in to an AUX input for streaming audio- Sound quality falls short of what I expected from the touted 30-watt amp and premium speakers. Bass doesn't sound very deep and there seems to be a mid-bass hump and recessed mids in an attempt to compensate for that. To my ear it sounds a little hollow.- EQ settings aren't adjustable enough. Only bass, treble and 'loudness', along with a couple of factory presets that aren't to my taste.WISHES- Software should be updated to provide a home screen full of additional presets to supplement the 6 physical buttons on the unit itself- FM tuner menu should have its own set of presets too. I could easily use 15 or more FM radio presets alone.- Software should be expanded to integrate iHeartRadio. This would add hundreds of radio stations/streams that are currently missing since they're exclusive to that platform. Grace Digital includes it in their Internet radios so it surely is possible.- Tidal and Deezer, with their lossless hi-fi streams, sound better than Spotify and should be supported on an audiophile-targeted product like this- In general there should be much broader support of all relevant streaming services as noted above- Multi-band EQ would have been preferable to bass/treble/loudness, to allow midrange adjustmentsOTHER THOUGHTSWhile I have great respect for the developer, this unit just wasn't the ideal all-in-one radio/streamer I had hoped for. It lacked access to HD radio stations and other stations on the iHeart platform that are priorities for me, meaning I'd have to stream them from my phone, defeating the purpose of having the built-in tuner to free you from streaming from your phone. I also found the sound quality rather underwhelming, certainly not on par with a radio such as the long-discontinued Cambridge Soundworks Model 88 which I still consider the gold standard for great-sounding table radios, or even the Bose radios. The Como is well built, looks good, and while the sound quality was not to my taste at least it's respectable. It's an admirable first effort from this company but my biggest takeaway from trying it out was that the Solo seemed like a Jack of all trades, master of none.

Versatile and High Quality System
This is a nice piece of equipment, because of its high quality, its ability to connect to multiple sources and the ease of use. The remote is somewhat limited but the app compensates for this. The sound is good but probably not good enough to be a main music system, but I haven't tried it with the additional speaker. The design is boxy but functional. Six presets could be a limitation for some as this covers all sources (e.g. FM, WiFi).

Great sound, great product.
Love it! Great product! Gets THOUSANDS of internet radio stations, which is why we bought it. The sound is excellent.Only one quibble - the display is still fairly bright when the radio is OFF (e.g. at night); this is true even at the lowest setting.
