does it come with battery?

The battery which is installed works for running the built in CLOCK and CALENDAR. You need to use the electric plug to operate the adding machine though. So when the machine is turned OFF the clock/calender uses the battery power to continue keeping time (like a wrist watch). And when you unplug the adding machine for any reason...the clock will not stop working.

simple old style adding machine ,works well. unlike many units that are set up a printing calculators .their buttons are not in the same place. simple but helps eliminate errors.
