This tool is great, especially if you do a lot of acoustical ceilings. Works very well for walls, and I love the micro adjust knob for fine tuning.

Awesome laser for the job site a great bright beam slightly dimmer than my co workers Leica. Very strong magnet for sticking to walls making a tripod not necessary.

This is a great laser setup. It's much larger than my previous 3-plane laser, but being able to use the same battery that I use in all my other tools is so helpful. The battery lasts for days, not minutes or hours. One of the best features is the fine tune dial for rotation. I find this much easier to match up to previously established marks than my previous laser.

I love this item the battery is great the magnetic pull it have is superb I used it a few times especially for recess light was more than I expected had pointer and everything was so on point I recommend this it's a real value for money and time saver

Great tool. Quite heavy with 4 or 5 Ah batteries. Nice bright lines (could be thinner, finer lines) and fantastic build quality. Super potent support magnets on the side. While the description says “tool only” it comes with mounting bracket (the biggest disappointment, see below), target card and a great carry case. You need to get the higher end package if you want battery and charger. Speaking of batteries, the on-battery charge indicator is covered when placed in this laser so DeWalt provides a great on-tool charge indicator. Win.This prismatic style laser is ideal when you need the laser in the middle of the workspace rather than just at one end. This can also effectively double the working range of the tool when compared to non-prismatic lasers in certain cases — a point rarely considered. The all-day battery life is a huge advantage. Bosch may make the best-regarded lasers but if you are already in the DeWalt ecosystem, I think you will be happy with this unit.Two things would make it better:1) If it remembered your last setting and returned to that when you turn the unit off and then on again. A small quibble.2) The-side-to side adjustment is nice but not nearly as needed as an up-and-down adjustment. The supplied bracket must be screwed a non magnetic vertical surface like a column and provides a steel plate that the laser’s built in magnets grip to. These rare earth magnets are so powerful that it’s really hard to move the laser up and down the bracket for fine adjustments. Also, because the thing is so big and heavy, it does not work with many aftermarket height adjustable brackets. You need to get a beefy one that may not fit in the (nice) supplied carrying case. A height-adjustable tripod or floor-to-ceiling stand pole may be the best option for some but a hassle to carry and store.

Just what i was looking for, and worked well right out of the box.

I was already heavily invested in 20v dewalt platform but this is an item I waited a long time to buy and glad I have it. I'm not a dewalt fanboy, meaning I'm not biased by their name. 3x 360 green lasers have a lot of features it's hard to compare with a $30 1x360. As much as this item costs I would still suggest getting a heavy duty tripod and there are a few companies that make an adjustment Adapter plate you can fine tune and sneak up on putting something exactly where it needs to be. Seems really rugged but I would suggest leaving the pendulum locked when moving it around to prevent internal damage. Can be used outdoors in some of the ways you might use a rotary laser but I'd suggest grade rods and laser detector if you want to pull double duty. I almost got the 12v version a few times but saw the 20v was coming to market and glad I waited. If you kinda feel this product is $200 more than it should be I have those same reservations at 30,000ft but there are just so many ways to use one of these everyone needs one.... you can cast a line down the center of the ceiling in the hallway and measure from center of line to wall on both sides in several points then transfer them to a piece of wood or drywall and have a perfect fit for these NOT square/plumb/true houses or just set height of outlets, control start stop points for tile.... there is literally hundreds of things I used to do without a laser that now I hope to never go back. Time is money and this item definitely saves time and yields a better finished product for those with an eye for details.

We are doing a remodel where we tore out to the studs. Changed the size/shape of an exterior window even. This is simply invaluable. My wife wasn't thrilled with the price I paid (don't get me started on how many tools I have bought for this remodel) but she is sold now having seen all the uses. First green versus red. Green is so much more visible. Distance is great, too. I used this under the house to check foundation and joists and it is remarkable to see a level line everywhere around the entire perimeter. Vanity lights are simultaneously centered in their space and at the right level using the cross hairs. I laid me ceiling sheetrock on the floor and used the laser to mark the centers of five small can lights. Bulls eye. Every single hole I cut in the sheetrock went perfectly around the lights. With the trim I'm using, I had 1/8th inch of tolerance, but these fit snugly. Leveled the ceiling, leveled the floor. Hung the cabinets brackets. What a treat this tool is. Should have bought one years ago.
