Student Learning Clock Time Teacher Gear Clock 4 Inch 12/24 Hour

My 8 year old son has really struggled to learn how to tell time because of his dyslexia. This little clock is great! The hour hand and the minute hand are different colors, so that is incredibly helpful - remembering which hand is which has been a giant struggle for him. “The big hand and the short hand” has been very difficult, but talking about it in terms of color makes it easier for him. Hopefully in the future that will translate to another clock.I also really like how the hour hand is locked in to place depending on what the minute hand is doing. So no matter how he arranges the hands, it is a real time.I also really like how small it is because I can slip it in my purse and we can do bite-size lessons anytime.Some reviewers have complained that it is cheap plastic, but it’s a cheap price! And mine has been through a lot of abuse and keeps on ticking, so to speak.

Not sure why there are so many complaints about the small size of this teaching tool. I bought this to teach my daughter, I don't need another giant chunk of plastic to clutter my home. If you are purchasing one to use as a teaching tool to an entire class of children, I would suggest finding a larger version. Otherwise, this suffices just fine. It does what it's meant to do and seems to be pretty durable.

Absolutely great bit of kit, arrived quick, very well built for clumsy fingers. Stands up on its own, fun to use. Maybe could use a ratchet so you can only turn it clockwise, but that would just be a minor improvement. Clear printing on the numbers, nothing to complain about at all.
