Shake your fruit
I've had this pear shaker before for many years/tours and it got lost in my travels at some point. I bought this as a replacement and it has a great sound. It's very easy to hold because of it's shape. Still a great product!

Plastic
Anything musical is fun for the little one. These fruit shakers do the trick and do look like plastic fruit. They will not be mistaken for the real thing. If you have a teether, some of the plastic/paint can be gnawed off.
