Purchased this adapter for my RFinder B1 Radio and I'm very pleased with the tight fit it has. It mounted flush so there is no bending of the radio's SMA connector. This adapter allows me to use several different BNC antennas with my HT. K5LOL

A quality product. Note this doesn’t entirely fit the uniden bcd 436 hp. It leaves a gap Between the adapter and the radio. Usean o-ring and it works perfect.

The work like they should

An SMA connector is supposed have an inner and outer conductor with a dielectric in between. The units I received are just a solid threaded stud on the SMA side. Clearly a number of steps of the machining process got skipped this time.

TLDR: The SMA connection on its own isn't strong. It will disappoint especially when attaching or disconnecting anything on the other end.Compared with using a SMA by itself this is better for the connector.The problem becomes evident instantly when using this for the first time. In my case, I am using this to connect a BNC antenna to a radio. WHen i attach the connector to the radio, it is all smooth sailing. Attaching the antenna to the connector is also problem free. However when i attempt to disconnect the antenna form the radio, the whole contraption begins to unscrew. I suppose what this means is that the BNC to BNC connection is much stronger than the SMA to SMA end.Regardless of price, an adequate product should be expected. This isn't it.Since it does work, I gave it two stars.Compared with nothing, this is good.

BNC to SMA adapter that works but the SMA side is incredibly shallow so any transceiver you put it on will have a decent gap between the radio body and the bottom of the adapter. One of the SMA pins was bent which is easily fixed with a pair of sturdy tweezers, however, there are two in the packet and one could be damaged if your pin correcting skills are not up to it which represents a 50% failure rate.
