Navkar Mantra For Kids - My First Jain Prayer Book

My 3 year old is obsessed with this book and even takes it to the car some times! She asks for it to be read to her over and over again. It's so nice that there's a storyline which the kids of today can relate to, and it also writes out the words and meanings of the Navkar Mantra. This evening I was singing the Navkar Mantra to her at bedtime and I couldn't believe she knew some of the words and tried to sing along. All because of this book. Thank you so much to Meera and Shamil for allowing us to carry our traditions through to the next generation, and great job with the illustrations and graphics too.

There was a gap in the market for a book like this. My kids love reading this every night and it’s great that I can explain the meaning to them from a young age. The illustrations are really nice too. Can’t wait to see what’s next!! Would highly recommend to anyone trying to teach their children the Navkar Mantra. Also not too late for adults to learn from this book too.

I am so happy with this book, as growing up I was taught the Navkar mantra from a young age but couldn’t find something to engage my children behind the meaning of the mantra. This book is so beautifully written and illustrated that my 4 and 2 year old love reading, and now repeat the mantra with me. Would definitely recommend this book.

What a beautifully written and illustrated book to help us all understand the meaning of the Navkar Mantra! This is one of its kind - my 8 year old daughter knows the Navkar Mantra by word but now she knows it by meaning as well thanks to the amazing authors who decided to enrich us all by writing this book. I would have never been able to explain it like this book does and she has been reading it to her 5 year old brother. It is a book that I can imagine my daughter passing on to her children. I love that it is a board book and the size is perfect. The colours and illustrations are wonderful. A must have for all Jains! Thank you for creating this book!

This is a gem of a book to introduce values of Jainism to not only young children but also inspire adults too to take baby steps to finally fully understand the meaning of Navkar Mantra that they have beenchanting for years . Extremely colorful and superbly illustrated. Looking forward to more mantra books from these innovative authors.

This fabulous book really sums up the importance of the Navkar mantra and it’s true meaning wonderfully yet so simply for children to understand. I was surprised my toddler focussed and listened and asked for it to be read again! Great job Meera & Shamil - a must have book and perfect gift x

I'm an adult learning about Jainism. I thought this book would be an interesting way to learn more. I didn't know Jainism existed until about six months ago. The Navkar mantra was actually the first thing that got me very interested in this religion. I had never resonated so clearly with a prayer as I have with the message of the Navkar mantra. So I wondered, if I were a child in a Jain family, what the material would have been like to learn introductory information. Children's books are carefully written to convey information in smaller doses, so they can give interesting insight. I liked the book. Also, the art is lovely.

althou the book is really good as i want my kids to learn about my culture... but it takes sometime ... kids dont take to it immediately.. i am not gonna give up and gonna have patience and try and keep reading to them!
