Spectacular Vestron Release, Two Films Plus A Full Length Documentary Retrospective, Just Because They Care
I hate admitting this, because these films aren't exactly the embodiment of any cinematic gold standard, but, truly, I adore these silly little films. They just make me happy. Taking that for granted, I am not reviewing the films, as I usually don't, others can do that better, but, rather, I am commenting on the Blu-ray set itself. This set is wonderful. The film transfers are remastered efforts, not the same as the old worn out DVDs. The color is excellent on both, although there is mild color fading in comparison to what would be seen on a brand new film. There is a noticeable variation in grain on both films, owing to the need of the restoration team to use slightly more aggressive measures to remove specks when they hit more degraded sections of the celluloid on their digital transfers. The result is a give and take. Where it was possible to leave more grain, due to less specks and flecks, they did. When they had to remove defects, a bit of grain went with them. It seems to me an admirable job was done on both films. The sound on both is wonderful, robust and even. The extra features included commentaries and a making-of featurette along with a few things you won't care about when you notice that, on the Waxwork disc, there is a full-length, one hour and twenty-two minute, retrospecitive documentary, basically, an extra film. This is really a three film set, when you consider that addition, and I loved every minute of it. Adding that to the quality of the films themselves, I have to say that this is one of the best releases Lionsgate's Vestron sub-label has put out there. If you like the films, you will love this release. It really is very impressive work on the part of the Vestron team. Good luck finding what works for you.

Fantastic movie! Bad seller.
The movies are great and highly recommended. The only bad part is the seller Quick Clix decided to place their sticker on the cardboard sleeve which isn't wrapped in plastic. I would recommend finding a different seller that doesn't do this to buy from.

and had a great time with it
For fans who grew up in the 80s, there was that Friday and Saturday night trip to the local video store. Back in the day they were everywhere contrasted with 2017, where there are virtually none, and now we are stuck with the souless redbox. Anyway, Waxwork is one of the lowbudget gems I frequently rented, and had a great time with it. Great cast, great action and comedy. With some of the bloodiest vampire and werewolf stories ever. The DVD is a treat with a making of, commentaries, and great feeturettes both Waxwork 1 and 2. Great disc and worth picking up in your collection.

I bought this blu ray and was really satisfied with the transfers of both films
I bought this blu ray and was really satisfied with the transfers of both films. The packaging is very class. Great special features. Lots of commentaries, feature length making of docs, interviews, stills, isolated scores..packed to the gills in this double set of two great, but very different, films that do not really fit together tonally. Same director, two polar opposite vibes. Great experience, though. Worth the thirty bucks. Hit the spot. Part 1 captured that late era video store rental mood pitch perfect. Stylishly shot, the both of them. Not for a serious watch, more for atmosphere and camp. Pretty girls, cool effects, music and camera tricks.

One Good, Two should be lost in time
I bought this only for the unrated version of Waxwork. The movie is pure late 80’s cheese with great practical effects. Waxwork 2 is indescribably horrid with the lovely Deborah Foreman being replaced by some terrible actress and a ridiculous time hopping through different old movies “plot” to clear the heroine’s name from murdering her father. The majority of the movie takes place in a very bland and boring medieval setting.

Good transfer
If you ever enjoyed the Waxworks movies, this is something you should get should you want to see them in HD, I'm not a blu ray snob or expert like some but I personally enjoyed the quality of the transfers of the two films.

" I was so glad to read that this was going to have lots ...
I haven't bought a physical disc in a while since most movies are coming out with less and less "extras." I was so glad to read that this was going to have lots of them! Including 2 wonderful commentaries from director Tony Hickox and star Zach Galligan. Zach, especially, is affable and chatty with lots of inside details from the time of the production. If you loved this movie, this is the only way to see it.

Superb work from Vestron- double blu-ray Waxwork.
Both films are presented in very good image and sound quality. The first film remains superior, while the second is more of a satire of the idea of the first. But both are well supplied with supplements on the production of these small horror films.Wax museums are great for strange stories.

THE Release to buy. Full stop. Ignore the other listings. The Vestron release is the one you need
They never looked this good before.I'm a huge fan of both Waxwork movies, and this has cemented my love for them in the best way.The first disc has what's likely to be the game-changer for many fans. A 6 part, full-length documentary on the making of both films, with some excellent insight on them both, and a lot of great stories from behind the scenes. And both discs have a commentary with Anthony Hickox and Zach Galligan, so this has been loaded down with every reason you need to want to buy it immediately.Having gone through all the special features already, I can confirm that this is the best possible release of the Waxwork movies. If you enjoyed either of them, GET THIS.

Not for UK
Loved these when I was younger so wanted to rematch them, but couldn't find them on streaming services. So saw this and was glad. I was however really disappointed when I put the disc into my PS4 and it said it was no compatible with my region (UK).
