It protects the artifical grass but just in case i put slabs on the top as well. Recommended👌🏼😃

Genuinely works
Works perfectly if you use it properly. We propped up our fire pit on a few bricks, grass in perfect condition afterwards after several uses.

Keeps the grass under our firepit green.
I was unsure if it would work well as our La Hacienda firepit is the type with a bowl that sits into a square box, so it can get pretty warm underneath with radiated heat onto the base. However, the mat works really well, with just some of the clover in the grass dried out.
