Akua Intaglio Water-Based Ink, 16-Ounce Jar, Carbon Black

Works perfectly, nice black DARK pigments. Mix before using and your prints will come out great, but you gotta work fast. I successfully used this ink with damp papers, intaglio method, despite the ink being water based. Cleans off slabs well with regular cleaning products

I purchased Akua Ink for the first time and it turned out to be a total nightmare. The first bottle arrived with loosen lid, 1/2 bottle of ink leaked out, staining all other products inside the same package. I then requested a replacement. What could not believe is that the replacement came in the exact condition as the first one : lid loosen and ink leaking.

I've used this product on multiple projects before and I usually got great results on my work. But for some reason when I received the white it was clumpy and thick. It was so hard to apply to my brayer and it was just a complete mess. I don't know if the ink was old or the temperature it was stored made it that way but I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Akua Intaglio inks have been a catalyst in my reimmersion into printmaking after a 27 year hiatus due to personal toxicity from solvent based inks and solvents. A desire to work again in printmaking utilizing non-toxic measures led me to these wonderful inks. My experience using them has been refreshing with huge open times on the plate and cleanup with liquid soap and h2o. Research online indicates that Akua Products seem to be the go to ink line for serious printmakers. Reference to their use seems to keep showing up in my ongoing research of printmakers work.

Arrived with the lid loose. Ink got everywhere in the box and all over other products it was packaged with. Total nightmare.

Akua brand inks are my absolute favorite for relief prints. Prints beautifully!

Super ink for printing, etch etc. A little goes a long way and it is very easy to use. The inventor's claims are True - check out Susan Rostow.

To my mind the best ink for etching/carborundum work. goes further than yo think. Colour as to swatch.

My first trial of water based ink. Turned out superb. Quality of ink is superior. I liked the matte result after drying.The ink applies well, cleans nicely. This pack is of small quantity but can easily give you 100+ surface prints of about A4 size.
