Works as expected. Just a reminder this cannot be used with card reader and the controls on a jack connected wired headphones does not work.

Unfortunately this item does not serve the intended purpose. Only works for music and the wire is thin and flimsy. It does not look like it will last long. The point of purchasing this adapter is to replace the original and retain the functionality of it. So far so good, fine trxn.

On the plus side, the sound is good. Just as good as when I had an iPhone 6 and did not need an adapter. On the downside, it is already not working properly. It now takes my phone a few seconds to even recognize that it is plugged in and that the sound should be going through the headphones and not through the phone's speakers. I even struggle to get it to realize that the adapter is plugged in. I do not have this problem with the adapter that came with the phone and I use it more frequently than I use this adapter.

After plugging in headphones and turning on device, very quiet static can be heard; it disappears once music starts playing. Overall, this product is cheap and gets the job done, although it's really not much less expensive than the official Apple adapter.

Doesn't work with the updated iPhone 7

Don't buy this item. I should have headed the advice of others, but this one seemed to have mixed reviews so I took a chance. It doesn't work, I heard sound for about 1 second and it never worked again. I wanted this for work since I didn't want to use my nice wireless Bose headphones in the office for conference calls, but this item literally does not function, total waste of time and money.

This works great as an adapter to allow you to listen to music on your Iphone 7/7plus through a standard headphone jack. The headphone jack fits smoothly in the female end; and the lightning end works just fine. Great gadget for a good price, and nice to have as a backup in the event you lose your Apple-supplied device.
