Five Ten: A smarter shoe company.
I have two pair of Aescent shoes and love them both. I do have a wider foot and not much arch. The arch support on these is somewhat diminished which is very good for me, may not be good for others. Overall, Five Ten shoes are so comfortable. Five Ten seems to be very conscientious about durability without excess shoe weight and in my opinion may be the best shoes out there fitting that genre, not to mention also being some of the best looking shoes on the market, again, in my opinion. If the extreme sport pros are wearing them there must be a reason.

Slipper meets Rock Scrambling Machine
This is an excellent, comfy, cool grippy approach shoe - bar none. Its ridiculously comfortable (I have a wide foot), somewhat fashionable where you can wear with jeans etc but most importantly as an approach shoe or even an aggressive rock scrambling shoe its UNBELIEVABLE. The gumminess/stickiness/rock grip is second to none. an incredible shoe.

Excellent Choice of Bicycling and Walking Around
Excellent shoe for bicycling and generally knocking around. Fits exactly as expected (size 13 medium). Very comfortable and with enough support for pushing those pedals vigorously without foot fatigue. I wasn't familiar with this "Five Ten" brand until now but I'm very impressed and will definitely buy more of this brand.

Garbage
I bought these as hiking shoes but ended up wearing them for casual purposes because they don't provide the upper support I'm use to and the soles are slippery when the trails are a little mucky. As far as quality goes, the glue keeping the soles attached on both shoes let loose after wearing as a casual shoe 2 or 3 days a week for 6 months. When I noticed the sole flopping around a bit on one, I checked the other and it was just starting to come apart in the same manor so it's a quality issue. Anyway, you can do much better for your money.

Sometimes you get more than what you pay for
Ordered these for a hike and they arrived judtca day before departure. I was worried I'd pay since I had no break in period, but man oh man was I wrong. These shoes are absolutely fantastic. The fit was right on point, comfort far exceeded what I expected, and the grip of the soles is every bit as good as you've been reading. I went with the crazy blue color, but even so I wear these as regulars now and then. They really are that comfortable. This is a case of getting far more than you pay for.
