As an electrician I often need to reseal the service head cut out fuse, I've tried various options over the years but these are by far the best.

Have not used yet. However, construction is solid and lever action is smooth.

I purchased two of these, one for myself and one for someone else, for crimping 1mm stranded wire for hanging small to medium weight art pieces. I find that it works quite well. Given the price, one cannot expect an industrial grade crimper, but for limited use with small wires and aluminum ferrules, it is perfect. Keep in mind, this is only designed for ferrules up to 2.2mm. I use a 1.2mm double barrel aluminum ferrule for 1mm stranded wire. For safety, I always use two ferrules. I also found that the cutter portion of the tool cuts 1mm steel stranded wire easily and cleanly. I did not try the tool with steel ferrules, which take more force to crimp. This tool would probably be okay for the smallest steel ferrules, but might not work well for larger ones. So, in general, I would recommend that users stay with aluminum with this tool. I would recommend that before use, the tool's moving parts should be lubricated with light oil. You also have to learn how to use the locking button properly. The crimper does not come with instructions, but the drawings with the listing are clear (see attached photo). You have to press the crimper jaws firmly together to release the locking button, which slides down away from the jaws. Locking is done in the reverse order. One thing you have to be aware of when crimping is if the jaws are pointing downwards when you crimp, the locking button may slide from gravity into the locked position and then it can be hard to unlock after doing the crimp. (If this happens, press the jaws very tightly on the crimp.) To avoid this, you need to either not have the jaws pointing downwards or use a piece of tape to keep the button in the unlocked position while working. If you get really irritated, you could cut the locking button barrel and just remove it from the tool. It is really only used to make storage more convenient and protect the crimping jaws when not in use.
