Good design
I am learning to tat and I bought these following a recommendation from one of my lessons. In my inexperienced opinion, these are very comfortable, sturdy and easy to handle. I started learning to tat with a different shuttle that has a crochet on one side but once I started using these I was able to position my fingers better and not worry about accidentally engaging the crochet with the thread. Also, compare to my old shuttle, this is easy to wind and unwind and it has a pleasant sound too. Happy tatting!

Good shuttles
These are great shuttles, they have a nice point on the end for joining picots.

Seemed rather large for my hands-- needle tatting is easier
This was my first time using a tatting shuttles as opposed to tatting needles-- I have to say I was kind of surprised by how big these were. I do not have small hands by any means (I'd say they're average), but I can't get this to work for the life of me. The product isn't bad at all, but if you're a beginner I would say that needle tatting is much easier.

terrific tatting tools
These tatting shuttles are great. They are easy to fill with thread and perfect to use for tatting. I am learning, and make MANY mistakes. The little hook at the end slips right in under the threads to undo my mistakes...but never gets in the way while working the threads. The colors are bright and cheery to the eye and easily found if set aside for a moment. They are comfortable in the fingers and sleek to slip through threads. Just what I was looking for!

Nice little shuttles
I've done tatting for over 45 years and have taught it for the past 3 years in Community Education Classes, for which I wrote a textbook on tatting, Beginning Tatting: A Lesson Book: Arts and Crafts Collection . I've purchased these shuttles for my students to use on many occasions. They're just a little smaller than the Boyle shuttles, but they fit nicely in the hand and pass smoothly among the threads in the process of working the pattern. Because they are small, they will not hold as much of a standard crochet thread as one might like for larger motifs--though they will finish a snowflake in this material--but are fully adequate for the standard tatting threads used in bridal and other laces. They are certainly more than adequate for common sewing threads used in making note cards and baby laces. The pointed end is not quite as easy to use for picking apart mistakes, but it also doesn't tend to get accidentally caught on threads as it passes through the hands in the tatting process like the Boyle can either. (I usually find a small size crochet hook often works best for removing mistakes when they occur anyway.) As with most plastic shuttles, this one has a fixed "post" so it must be wound as is, unlike the Boyle which has a removable bobbin.

Good selection.
Clover shuttles have been around for many years. This set or large shuttles is good for larger sizes of thread or for using beads. This package of 5 will allow you to get started quickly, with a few spares when you need them. I will often 'daisy chain' my shuttles. Wind all of them with one color and then you do not have to stop to wind another shuttle when you run out, off you go until you have used all your spare. At that time you can take a bread, give your fingers a little vacation and wind all you shuttles again.

shuttles
this are good for the price but i am not using them for tatting . i am using them for a butterfly loom . it makes granny squares and you tie the crossings with strings were the squares meet . it makes a 8x8 and i was having to cut my strings to much because it would get tangled with this i can wind it all on and work off of it . it works pritty good . the only complaint i have is the points at both ends was really sharp i keeped scratching my hands pritty good . so i took a emery board and filled them down now it is what i was looking for .

Great size
The smaller size is easier to manage

Ces navettes sont pratiques, solides, ergonomiques et très agréables à utiliser pour réaliser la dentelle frivolité. C'est un bon produit.

A good brand of shuttle from this very competitive marketplace seller. There are lots of cheaper, very similar looking ones, but it's a false economy as I found out, because they quickly lose their 'snap hold' if they even had it at all, so beware. I treated myself to some handmade wooden ones when i graduated from needle tatting which're lovely but I do find myself using these the most. Highly recommended.
