I don't know why there's so many negative reviews about this product. I think it works great! It tans quickly and makes my skin a beautiful brown - not an orangey color. And unlike some tanning products, it has almost no scent! And what scent there is is very pleasant and doesn't bother me. I'm very sensitive to perfumes and chemicals and this doesn't bother me at all. It's barely detectable.I put it on by mixing it with a little lotion in the palm of my hand, since I have dry skin, and it goes on great with no blotchiness or streaking. I think it's the best self tanner out there and I hope they never stop making it.

I really like Sally Hansen's Gradual Tanning Lotion. The lotion goes on smoothly and evenly. The lotion has a pleasant, lightly floral and/or clean fragrance. Within about 2 hours of applying the lotion, I can already see the beginning of the tan. With repeat applications, I am gradually developing a medium tan that is darker than my natural medium skin tones but not too dark; meaning, I will have a tan that looks like a natural tan.In terms of the lotion discoloring clothes or other things, I have a mixed experience. I let the lotion dry completely before dressing and so far I have had no transfer of the lotion's color to my clothes or objects my skin rests against, with one exception. After I shower, some of the tan's color will transfer to my towel. My tan does not completely wash away or rub off on the towel, but it is clear some does.

I recently ordered 2 bottles after my favorite Youtuber suggested this was the BEST tanning cream. I have used tanning creams for years and thought since it came from someone I trusted and was cheaper I would try it. What a mess! First off, it is so dark when it comes off it literally stained my palms a DARK orange. (I had to spray my hands with bleach to get them to come clean. I was so worried i was going to have to go to work like that--how embarrassing!) I quickly tried to rub it into my legs and had the same issue as other reviewers--it was a globby mess. There were parts on my legs and arm where the product was just a thick glob like it couldn't break down and spread on my skin. I was worried I would have dark spots where this happened. Thankfully I am giving this a test run and it's winter here so no one can see what a mess my arms and legs are. I would NEVER buy again. Going back to my tried and true trusted brand that I can pick up at big box stores and is only a couple dollars more.
