Good coffee machine with a few quirks
Bought this to replace an identical version that we originally got from Currys that ended up just not working properly; by which I mean it wouldn't suck the milk up and dispense it into the cup. No amount of dial spinning, cleaning or attempts to take it apart seemed to solve the issue. We'd had it for about 3 years at that point. The current coffee machine (this one purchased from Amazon) does a mean Latte which is all we really use it for. We pair it with the Amazon Happy Belly Ground Espresso Crema 4-pack of coffee.A few things to bear in mind though.1. It's noisy. That's to be expected but just so you know.2. It takes a while to warm up so be patient. It won't do anything until both blue lights are on, so you've got to wait.3. We never use the half measure for the ground coffee so that's pretty much redundant. I want strong coffee please.4. You need to keep on top of cleaning it. This is perhaps where we went wrong with our first one of these. You need to clean it if you're not going to be using it for a while. Get all your cups of coffee made then clean it straight away. If you leave it too long between cleaning you get a build-up of old milk in the plastic milk container, the straw (that sucks up the milk) can get clogged too. I don't tend to use the actual cleaning program now. I'll do the following:a. Remove the milk container, rinse, and fill halfway up with water.b. Remove the coffee holder thing, rinse, and put it back on the machine.c. Place an empty cup and press the double latte program.d. Once complete, empty the cup, empty the milk container, remove the coffee holder thing, remove the overflow tray, empty and rinse, wipe where the hot water for the coffee comes out.Final thing. We have found that twiddling the dial from no froth to froth doesn't really make a lot of difference and there are times when no milk is being dispensed even when the dial is in the no froth position for a short period and then it will start again. At the end of the day, it is, relatively speaking, a cheap coffee machine so you do get what you pay for. But it is good value for money. Of that there's no doubt.

Brilliant machine so far.
Despite other reviews I really like the ease of use of this machine. Everything has been well thought in the design.Choose between preset latte, espresso or cappuccino or if you want a larger on just press the button twice. If you want a standard Americano you just press custom espresso and press again when you want to stop. Same with the milk frothing if you just want to do milk for example for a hot chocolate. The milk container detaches to be stored in the fridge, the froth spout comes off easily to be able to rinse after each use, drip tray easy to clean and empty. Adjustable tray. It has it all.Only thing is tall latte glasses don't fit unless you remove the drop tray but for me that's no major issue. For the price this is a very good bit of kit and very well designed.

Overall pretty good, but water tank sometimes leaks
When this machine was brand new, my coffee had a bad plastic taste in it, but this is always the case even with much more expensive machines. After a few dozen cycles and couple weeks of plastics "gassing out" my coffee started tasting great.Few months later, I noticed a water leak. After reading some other reviews, I was afraid it was some hose inside the machine, but it turns out it's the water tank. You must be careful how you put it in place and make sure it sits there perfectly, otherwise leaks can happen from time to time. There is a plastic tray collecting any coffee drops that come off the machine, once your coffee is made. It has some kind of a pressure release valve, so even if you take the portafilter off immediately after making coffee, it doesn't spit out drops of coffee under pressure. You should probably empty and clean the undertray a couple times per week (if not after every use), not just empty it but also wash under running water, otherwise a layer of coffee residues builds in it and it's quite hard to clean. Once I even found a mould in there. Also, even if you never make cappuccino or latte, you can't just take the milk tank off and leave it in the drawer. It needs to be fitted and filled with water every time you make an espresso. Otherwise the machine will be sucking in air, making a lot of weird noises. All the water for your coffee should only come from the main tank, but in fact, a very tiny amount of water (couple drops?) is also taken from the milk tank every time you make an espresso. That's why both tanks must be in place and filled with water.Other than that, I think there are better portafilter designs than this machine has, but overall, machine is easy to use, seems to reach the right temperature and pressure because my espresso tastes really good, which is the most important thing.Btw, you can also make a coffee directly into a plastic cup (not the huge ones of course). It has enough room for it between the bottom tray and portafilter.

Greatly Impressed
I bought a returned machine at a great price not expecting very much from it, to be honest. One year later and it is still used every day It makes a great cup of coffee and is pretty simple to use and clean. I would recommend it.

Bad Product
Within a year, I had this replaced three times and it's broken again. I was told it wouldn't be replaced again (I don't even think this is legal). The second machine was broken within a a week of getting it. I took good care of them, always cleaned and descaled. It's a good machine that makes good coffee but doesn't hold up with daily use, will be dead within a month. There's always a problem with the electrics or the pump goes. I know this seems like a bargain but you're throwing money away. Buy something at a higher price point, something that will actually last a year. It's shouldn't even be legal to sell this if it needs replaced every couple of months.
