For the price this costume is a nice start. I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs and the medium fits pretty well. The pants are very short. They just make it to the boot covers which did not work for me very well. I bought a very inexpensive pair of boots to go with this costume that work perfectly. The belt will not stay tight and does not work that well. A safety pin will hold it or just use a different belt. The bandana does not have hair attached, it's basically just a scarf. I bought a pirate hat with hair attached that looks really good with this costume. The shirt and vest are made together and the quality is just okay at best. I would only hand wash and line dry. I wore this costume several times and it is still holding up fine. The 5 stars are for the price and I think it's worth the quality.

I got this for my husband for Halloween. It fit well, held up, had all the accessories and he was able to play the part! Fun buy!

This is a good costume for the price. Everyone thought my husband made a good pirate. The shirt and vest are actually one garment sewn together. It comes with boot covers, which are a nice touch. Just remember you'll still need to buy a sword! My husband has an extremely large head (normally wears an XXXL), and the head bandana still fit him. However, we were sent the wrong size costume. I ordered the plus size (48-52) and the size we actually received was a XL (44-46). We would have exchanged for the correct size, but we needed it for a party a day later. Fortunately, this still sort of fit my husband (height: 6', weight: 280, normally a 52 in Indian tunics but wears a 42 pant size). By sort of, I mean, he needed to wear an undershirt because the top was quite tight and the belt didn't fit at all. The strip of fabric for the waist still sort of worked though. I was a bit concerned the pants would tear, but we survived the party at least.

the material for the vest / shirt and the shorts where of decent quality, enough it will be used again, the bandana and sash where of not that great of quality, but decent enough. my biggest complaint would be the vinyl boot tops which were of cheap one sided vinyl , and you could see fringing on the edges, didnt look like it was cut well. props for the belt buckle to be made of real metal, and for the price it was well worth it. much of the shabby details will be lost in the darkness of parties and the night, and honestly i got many great compliments on the costume, but my biggest advise for anyone trying to pull off a decent pirate, don't be afraid to put on some makeup whether by yourself or preferably by someone who has experience; it really brings the whole thing together.

I didn't use the pants or boot covers, but the top was perfect as is and worth the price itself because it's comfy and looks great. I also liked the maroon fabric of the headband and sash. I'm 5'10" and 140lbs medium was a great fit.

Decent costume for the price, the pants and boot covers are decent quality. The vest/shirt combo was a little small ( Okay I am a large guy, 6' 2" and pushing 250 lbs ) It fit like a tight t-shirt, and it didn't look right so I cut up an old dingy white t-shirt from the closed and wore that underneath. I did rip one of the straps on the boot covers, they were a little small to go around the shoes I wore, but hat was easily fixed with a little hot glue and some black elastic I had on hand. Once it is all on, it looks pretty good, You definitely won't win any costume contests in this but you won't be the worst dressed pirate either. I did add a hat and a couple of more sashes.

Read other reviews and worried about this costume being too small. It's not. I'm a bit large around the middle. I wear 40x29 pants & a 46-chest jacket; 33" sleeves. The XL size costume fit very well. The costume is well-made and seems like it will be durable (except for the belt which is a 3" wide strip of vinyl with a buckle). Will need some Velcro with fabric adhesive to keep the boot covers up (will attach them to pant legs) and to keep the belt buckled. The pants just have some elastic in the waist, not enough to hold them up if you bend over, so I am using an old pair of suspenders underneath the shirt (totally hidden by the vest, front & back). After receiving this item, I decided that I also needed a wig, so I bought one at a local costume shop.

My husband is 6'4 and normally wears an XL. I would say this costume fits a little smaller than what we had expected. The quality is okay for what we paid, I just wished the pants were more durable. They are thinner than thin! LOL. As for the shirt part, I really liked this item. It fit perfectly :) and without knowing, I bought the Sexy Swashbuckler Pirate Adult Costume and it matches this one! :) Great idea to buy these two for a couples costume!! :) The stripes in these pants perfectly match the siding detail stripes in the top for the woman's costume! :) The boot toppers are super corny looking and cheaply made, but what can you expect from paying 30 bucks haha.The costume fit him pretty tight, but it will work! As for the belt, I would say get 3M double sided clear tape, you're going to need it to stick the belt end to itself.Other than that, a good purchase~!
